What's the stupidest dance analogy you've heard?

    Inspired by this:

I've heard some even more silly instructions than that - typically in Tango you get asked to pretend you're a panther or something.

Why is it that some dance teachers want to employ overblown and ridiculous analogies to describe some concept?

There's also a couple of gems here:
"Imagine you're a princess, walk like a queen!"
    and
"stand like you're proud of your new breasts"

Any other contributions people have heard, that they'd like to share?

I remember going to workshop once that encouraged us to (paraphrased) "dance a bit like we were a lizard going through evolution to become walking modern day man"

(it was about leaning slightly forward but still standing tall)

This was almost immediately before same teacher told the leads to "imagine the woman coming striaght into your eyes".

The class promptly descended into childish giggles from that point on

When teaching the "man's spin," one teacher would always tell us to imagine that the left to right hand hold was a bridge and the man's arm coming across through the middle was a car or plane crossing or flying over the bridge and we were encouraged to make the appropriate noises.

Stupid as is was though I found myself passing this on when I taxied and still catch myself making silly noises when I do the move. Indoctrination can be a terrible thing.

That was a fab workshop with some quality points being made but yes, I was guilty of quite a few childish remarks and giggles throughout that workshop.
