    Who's going where? Weekend 13th/14th/15th May 2011

Here is the "Who's Going Where?" thread for the weekend of 13th/14th/15th May 2011.

    ---------------------------------------------
    How it works:
    1. Suggest events you personally are interested in attending, in the form "Day - Event - Location".
For example: "Sat - Perth Freestyle (Ceroc Scotland) - The Hangar, Perth"
    2. The moderators will put these suggestions into a poll - usually around Tuesday.
Note: The poll may include extra options without event details (usually called "Spare", "Space" etc.) which allow the mods to add events in order after the poll is created - but only if no-one's voted on them. So, please ...er... don't vote on them.
    3. People vote, we can all see who's going where, and the indecisive amongst us can decide where to dance.

Note: no advertising: The forum rules about advertising apply - these polls are not meant to allow organisers / crew / friends to advertise events. The moderators will remove any such posts.
    ---------------------------------------------

For the 4th weekend in a row there seems to be something on in Rugby, so I'm hoping to be at:
Sat - Rugby Freestyle (Ceroc Passion) - Indian Centre, Rugby
    Love dance, will travel

Why, was it bad last time? I enjoyed it last time I went... Mind you that was at the Forum, not the school.

The forum was fine, not as good as Berko but certainly a good evening

School last time, music dreadful, uninspiring, bouncy bouncy. When I arrived all I could see was a sea of bouncing grey heads – made Cheshunt look young and hip. Then when he finally played some decent music everyone was queuing out the door literally to get their food. Don’t they buy food at home? It was at that stage I decided to cut my losses and go to Hammersmith, where I had a really good ending to the night.

Other than that it was great

They're lucky to have a full head of hair

And there's nothing wrong with getting old. We all do it. Hopefully we get better and better - but bouncing is not 'better'. Bouncing begs the question 'who taught them to bounce?'

Strange, I always thought iJig was a younger crowd than normal - possibly a different demographic to the midweek lot.

Ah, that does sound like Cheshunt

Mind you, they do a good spread at iJig.

I know, I'm not young myself! But I have still got all my own hair.

It was the bobbing up and down of grey that got me.

Very different - Midweek I'm one of the older ones - Saturday I'm a young thing!

I hope I don't bounce but I am grey so partially right.

I always have a good night at Ijig and you've probably already noticed that I'm not a woman lol, but from a man's perspective there appears to be about 10 very very good male dancers that regularly go, making it a good night for the women that get them !

Jon Brett normally has a good spread of tunes across the genres as well as playing some stuff normally confined to a blues room.

I don't think I'm going to make it to Rugby this weekend. Maybe next time.

Ok time to eat humble pie and say it was actually a very good evening and I'm glad I gave it another try. There was no sea of bobbing grey this time (there must have been a coach outing from the OAP home in Cheshunt last time).

I did not dee You though MarcusJ

I got dragged down there by friends. Good music, some excellent dancers and a fun evening.

We did feel it was too crowded though - enough to put us off going back. The second room wasn't too bad though, and when the pizza arrived (putting that out of action) the main room cleared enough to actually move.

I'm not good enough to dance on the spot

Still, had fun, don't regret going, no idea whether I saw Maxine/Marcusj while I was there

That was not as crowded as normal.

We keep going to the same venues but I’ve yet to identify you – beware this won’t last forever

Thanks Max, didn't see you either, I was wearing ultra feminine white jeans so you couldn't really miss me lol.

A good night but very crowded.
