I seem to have accidentally stumbled upon a spoof of the programme.
"World Renowned Award Winning Harmonica Virtuoso"
***?!?!?!
Are Ceroc broke? Or have they just completely lost the plot?
Oooh the pods new.... I like the look of that !!

"If you're going to do something tonight, that you know you'll be sorry for in the morning, plan a lie in." Lorraine
from the event schedule page of the scorch website:
Just book the space on the booking chart inside the POD for an hour at a time and take your music and party people with you.
Hmm, I still don't get it
So, someone gets there, puts his name down for an hour, followed by all his mates names
Is it exclusively there's
Talk about cliquey!
Or am I being thick?

Actually, Joe Powers is a world-famous musician (admittedly, "world-famous" in Tango terms).
Yes, the blurb is not exactly inspiring - but if I'd known he was playing (and if I weren't seeing him the following weekend anyway), I'd have been seriously tempted. I assume he's got a backing group?
Although it's a bit strange to have Ceroc book a proper Tango musician; I'd have thought there wasn't a huge demand for traditional music... I guess Mike was serious when he told me that the June Southport is "The Tango One".
I don't think it sounds like it's exclusive - it's just encouraging people to bring their friends along. I.e. it's just a Sack The DJ spot. Although I'm not sure why they couldn't just use the Blues room for that...? Actually, they are using the Blues room for that, so I agree, it's not quite clear what the point is.
Private lessons, private parties, that sort of thing I suppose.
To be honest, I doubt it'll work - simply because it looks like it's outside, and people don't like to go outside when they're dancing, not even to cross the road; we saw that with the Marquee that Jive Addiction ran a few years back. The thing Ceroc did before with the igloo worked, but that was inside the venue.
But it's worth a try.
Also I spotted this:
And she's teaching a Jango class on Sunday.EMMA PETTITT (EP)
This curly cutie and the other half of the Emma & Alex teaching duo will
be leading the way with Ballroom, Latin and Fusion Styles this weekend.
Cha Cha Cha, Strictly Jive for Fast Dancing & Jango are where she is at.
Have Ceroc now taken over this from Amir?
As this will very likely be my only weekender of 2011, can I be allowed to officially be "quite excited"?.
Are we nearly there yet?
I see that Craig Addison is doing two WCS sets over the weekend, I am wondering who is going to be giving him a heads up on what type of music works??
Interesting. How is anyone who doesn't talk to Mike supposed to know that
I looked at the SP schedule, and was most disappointed to see just one Milonga, quite early on the Saturday night (far too early IMO). I had no idea there was going to be a focus on AT at Camber in June - it doesn't seem to indicate that on the VLV website, and I've not noticed it in any of the Ceroc London emails. If I'd known this, I might've booked for VLV instead... or possibly both of them. It's probably too late now.
Oh dear, I'm complaining a week before the event even starts... must remember to pack my positive POV before I leave!
there is also a Milonga from 9.30pm-12.30am on the Sunday in the Cyclone Room
