Dance at Marcus Garvey, WB (a few other venues occasionally). I don't know if you know me... but if you've been going for years... probably!

Wear a red rose next week and I'll find you!!!

    Tips, advice, encouragement??
    Fruitcake.
Also new to MJ, just past few months (and only 1 hours lesson and 30 mins freestyle a week) so also hoping everyone else won't be miles better though its lovely to watch good dancers too!

This kind of event should really fire your enthusiasm and improve your dancing because the teachers are great and the vast majority of dancers are there for fun so shouldn't really matter how long you've been dancing. Remember that some dancers are still relative 'beginners' after months or even years ( and no comments here please Steve ).

Will be sending off my form soon so look forward to seeing you there - I'm the grey haired one who doesn't like to move too much

Well said Bill. That's precisely what Southport is all about learning and improving but with the emphasis on FUN! If any forumites have been present at a Mikey lesson particularly, they'll know what I mean!! If you haven't then you are really in for an experience. He's not only a great teacher but also a wonderful entertainer.

But then is jb a top DJ? - Not in my opinion, used to love his events, great guy also, although I actively avoid his music sets if I can.
