Andy bought up this matter last year and it occurred to me again recently.
How many threads are started on here that it might be thought would generate pages of response but all you get is five contributors and an argument. Yet there are some e.g. about a TV show (interesting as it may be), that generates many replies.
I am thinking especially of last year's top ten floor fillers thread and my very own trivia (I really am not upset or being biased just curious as to why).
what amazes me is no one has mentioned Japan, or the fact we are all going to be glowing in the dark
There was a time, when you did not need the newspapers or to watch the TV. it was all on the forum
I totally agree djtrev... I can hardly look at the papers. The earthquake by itself would have been bad enough, add in the tsunami, and then the aftershocks... I think I am in overload on tragedy.. I think I would rather find the humour in life just now. If I don't then I'll end up in tears.
That is 1 reason why I tend to take part in the trivia. The serious discusions tend to go downhill to arguments, so I don't want to join in and encourage it..

When you consider the large scale disasters that have happened during the last 12 months, the conflicts in the Middle East and our involvement in Afghanistan,I find it very difficult not to be affected by it.
I really do worry what lies ahead for my children and their children.
Not to mention the fact that I read the Mail on-line with all its doom and gloom which apparently is all a pack of lies.
Has to be said, there is some usefulness in "bumping" a thread - how about leaving a message on some of the threads you want re-vitalised? Shows as new posts, and bubbles the threads up which will likely add some new conversation
