We were more gutted than suprised Blackpool date was issued in june last year and Camber added later - I am pretty sure that Camber is normally around the 5th March and therefore is a week later this time hence the clash - shame they had to tho - could have been a win win situation for all if they had been a week apart
a little taster of
Most people have the wrong idea of Lindy dancing - what do you think of this ?

I quite like , although it's not really a fair representation of "normal" Lindy social dances...
Missed GNSH this year, but I intend to make it for the first time next year.

Sorry .
Understandable I guess. Why aren't there many videos of "normal" Lindy Hop? I suppose the people holding the cameras think it's not as interesting as the "Jams".
and I suppose that an outsider seeing those "Jams" would think that it was the norm and maybe not realise that we all switch back to dancing like in your clip straight after.
I might speak to the organisers at a social dance and see if they'll video some normal dancing .
The trouble is most people with cameras tend to video the cabarets or teachers jamming - can't blame them, it's what we all want to dance like
You must book for a Hep Cats weekender Gav - it's much more laid back than GNSH (the Suffolk one which is bigger has more Lindy dancers than the WSM event) but both are great and they are such a friendly bunch and the bands are amazing.
NEXT year the Suffolk one starts on Friday 23rd March - MY BIRTHDAY !!!

Out of interest, have you guys ever liaised with Ceroc about dates, or approached them about it? Because if you have and they ignored you, fair enough. But if you never even talked to them, you can't complain that they do their own thing - because that's precisely what you're also doing.
Or am I being far too logical there?
