Here is the "Who's Going Where?" thread for the weekend of 11th/12th/13th Mar 2011.
---------------------------------------------
How it works:
- Suggest events you personally are interested in attending, in the form "Day - Event - Location".
For example: "Sat - Beach Ballroom Saturday Party (Ceroc Scotland) - Beach Ballroom, Aberdeen"- The moderators will put these suggestions into a poll - usually around Tuesday.
Note: The poll may include extra options without event details (usually called "Spare", "Space" etc.) which allow the mods to add events in order after the poll is created - but only if no-one's voted on them. So, please ...er... don't vote on them.- People vote, we can all see who's going where, and the indecisive amongst us can decide where to dance.
Note: no advertising: The forum rules about advertising apply - these polls are not meant to allow organisers / crew / friends to advertise events. The moderators will remove any such posts.

That's the world of competition for you. If Ceroc continues its dominance of the weekender market, there's every possibility that at some point, there'll be competing Ceroc weekenders on at the same time. Let's face it, the "weekender season" calendar is pretty packed already - the Ceroc weekenders are almost competing with each other as is.
But, another way to look at it, is that there's now an awful lot of choice around. I remember 5 years ago, when you had a choice of Camber with Franco (dire, basically), Southport with JA (great but infrequent), or the Rockbottoms / beach boogies ones (small and elite).
The weekender market now provides a wide range of choices of location, of size, of accomodation, and so on. There are dozens of weekender options available each year now.
sat and sunday - edinburgh - eric jorensen tango workshops
Sorry this is going so off thread but:
For females like myself not booking with a man, the choice is severely reduced; as we have to book straight away, or I miss out on getting on the weekender. If I find a few weeks down the line there is not an alternative that I fancy. Swish was sold out of ladies places before the event went on general sale and all the ladies places for the better chalets on MJRoc, Warmwell event for 2011 were pre sold at their last event.
Also Ceroc may hold the most events but with 7 Pontins and 2 hotel weekenders that still leaves 43 other weekends; even if you discount the summer months that are still another 20.
It would just be nice to have the opportunity to attend some others.
Camber, tango shoes at the ready
Wow, Camber clashing with Blackpool, quite surprised by that.
