I am a great believer that Breast for babies is the best start in life but this really is gross.

I mean, HELLO !!
is it just me or is this plain wrong.
Well yes you are correct, they are removing it but it also says that mothers are supporting it and if it is removed, they are going to protest.
Im a mother and I dont support it, not in anyway.
Well, obviously!
I don't see what the problem is (apart from being £14 for a serving! - otherwise, I'd nip down there at lunchtime and give it a try).
If you don't want it, don't have it.
Not to mention that the "donor" is getting £15 per 10 ounces. Years ago when my kids were babies, I met/heard of plenty of young mums that would have been glad of both the extra money and somewhere to get rid of their excess milk!
I have to say, the thought of it doesn't appeal to me personally but I can't see why it more wrong than 'cow's' or 'goat's' milk, if its pasteurised.
I recently saw a programme where a tribe of Nomads, drank horses milk and my initial reaction was eugh but then I thought, whats the difference
One question, I wonder if the donor is still breast feeding her baby and this is surplus to requirements or has she just carried on for this purpose

We drink breast milk every day, just happens to come from a cow rather than a human. *shrug*.
I wish I could have sold mine when I was lactating. I'm not exaggerating that I could easily have made £200 a week at the rates they were offering and as a single parent, I really could have done with the cash.
They had a discussion about it on Radio 2 (Jeremy Vine) last week and a few men phoned in to say they have breast milk (human) in their tea and really like the taste. Good luck to them! Everyone’s a winner, mother makes a few quid, punters get what they want and the ice cream man is a bob or two ahead with plenty of publicity into the bargain.
I consider myself a bit of an expert when it comes to breast feeding. I breast fed all three of my kids. Basically, the more you pump, the more you produce so theoretically you could feed your own child and still produce plenty to sell.
The only thing I would say is that prem baby units are usually short of breast milk for the babies that really need it so you could argue that it would be better to donate there rather than profiting if you didn't need the cash.
I breast fed both of mine too and like you, probably could have made a fortune with the amount I literally threw away. (I used to hold a cup under one, while the other was being 'used' and that lot just got tipped away )
I was just thinking, God help her if she wanted to go out for the day and was expressing 8 times a day

There are some clips youtube I think about kids being breast fed till they are 8.
It's such a relief to hear that I wasn't the only one this happened to. Whenever I see women in public breast feeding thier babies, they never seem to have the problems you and I had. Why doesn't their other boob turn into a sprinkler system on full speed the way ours did.
Sorry, TMI?
