Yep, that does happen! At a 'muggle' dance in early October - I got up with a guy who dances ceroc in England and was visiting his brother for the weekend. I had only had 3 lessons at that point but he had been dancing 3 years so made me look good! Afterwards several people came and asked what it was, where can they learn etc - as a result about 7 came along to the class the next week, four of which haven't missed a week since then.

Just had our office party yesterday - only a small group of us (40 or so) and as far as I know none of 'em dances MJ. Really annoying as the DJ was playing lots of dance-able tracks.

The other problem was that the "dance floor" was about 8 feet square - fine for dancing round handbags but even if anyone there knew MJ, not a lot of space to do it in. I fear this idea of how big a 'dance floor' should be is fairly typical these days.
    Love dance, will travel

OK - it wasn't a 'work' do, but was at a party last night - a non jive event but my friend who goes to the MJ class with me was there. In a hall so lovely dance floor, loads of space and had a brilliant time. So if possible - take a partner with you to dance with at these things. Of course some work functions won't let you do that...
