    Bah humbug - Valentine's Version

I just got this one in my email box:

Good God Almighty - how tacky is that? Not to mention the thought of lurrve happening at Venue 2 is enough to make me wince.

Are any other franchises going LurveCrazed this weekend?

A few seem to be hedging their bets - Valentine's theme wise, but not publicly ostracising any dancers who don't have loved up partners for the event. (Unlike most restaurants, rubbing their hands in glee with set menus for 2 etc).

Haven't seen one actively promoting single dancers yet though for Valentines.
Would that cross the streams too much (being Single & looking for partner looking vs dance etiquette of no dancing just to try it on with folk?). Maybe just being a wee bit more flirtacious within limits is the happy medium for a Valentine's event?

Was I the only one who misread that as 'mince'?

As far as I can see, Valentines is just the commercialisation of love. Couple (no pun intended) that with the romanticisation of love and it's a wonder that marriages don't end in divorce half the time.

Hmmm. A certain independent not a million miles from Watford Gap is ("proudly") offering "Your antidote to the usual guff: the anti-valentine's day freestyle ... no red roses, hearts or hallmark cards allowed". Admittedly this is scheduled for February 19th ... but by then I suppose you'll know whether to cast yourself off a tall building or not

Local venue advised men to bring a rose.
Only saw a few guys with one, but one chap had a whole posey -must be some serial charmers in the dancing scene!

Does "cellophane wrapped bunch of overpriced about to wilt crimson flowers, with vaucous good looks covering up their lack of scent" cover it? :P
