No, this is exactly the same as the usual 'who's going where thread' so under the rules, you can't post them I'm afraid

I'll just add, if anyone's aware of anyone posting anything, that they have a direct involvement with, please let us know, as we do not want to be unfair to anyone!

Why not create another thread for competitions (perhaps including other events which have competitive elements).

How many of the above competion really cover the whole weekend, I only really know BritRock and the Friday is a pre-comp night, in fact this year it is a Soul Night

Good idea, we could then add other competitions, like WCS and Blues

The Scottish Championships has a Friday night Pre Comp party, Freestyle in between the heats on the Saturday, - then a party til 1, then a tea dance on Sunday.... Does that count as a weekend?

It shouldn't be because there is no significant element of interest other than the competition and freestyles.

So if it additionally had (for example) a couple of tracks of workshops each day it might reasonably be considered a weekender.

Yeah - if the event is primarily promoted as a championship, that's not a weekender.

A weekender is a weekend of social dancing - there may or may not be a competition involved as well.

    Seems fairly straightforward to me.

Re: Who's Going Where? Major Dance 'Weekender' Events in 2011

I've put a poll on this thread.

The list was a bit too long to comfortably fit in the poll, so I've moved the Lindy ones to a separate thread here.

There's also a 2011 Competitions thread here, but I think it needs a few more entries on it before we make it into a poll.

I'd also like to do Storm, but it seems to be all sold out for women only chalets. If anyone hears of a place going (with accomodation) then please let me know.

    Interesting news just in..

Ceroc have changed the date of 'Viva Las Vega' to one week before, so that it no longer clashes with JA's launch of Hemsby

But more interestingly, I (personally) take that as a positive sign that 'Pontin's' are sorting their act out and that the planned Ceroc weekenders for later in the year will still go ahead!

Not on web site yet - it also means the gap between Southport and Camber is less

I hope this is correct for all the reasons you have mentioned Lory and because I could not make the original date, as I have to go to Spain for my niece’s wedding for that weekend - made my day
