It's been a while, but Utopia are doing another S'funk on 22 October.
For dancers and "handbaggers" who love soul and funk. Rocky says they'll be doing some fun classes during the night like "The Hustle" which I'm looking forward to.
So, who's coming then?
S'Funk
I'm so gutted, in fact, I'm SOOOOOOOO gutted!

On the one hand, I'm sad that you wont be there as I haven't seen you for ages...on the other hand, I'm thinking "Whoop, whoop! No Lory making the rest of us look like amateurs"
I've put the word our among my soul shack/soul night/solid soul fraternity and so far I've got 7 definites and lots of maybes. I'm really looking forward to S'funk.
I'm gonna be handbagging - can't wait
Oh dear, just Googled it !
You knew I wouldn't resist that option!

Leroy (Satchel) Paige (1906-1982)
Mickey Mouse's girlfriend, Minnie, made her film debut, along with Mickey, in "Steamboat Willie" on November 18, 1928.
That date is recognized as her official birthday.
Me and Gav set off to Twickers early because the drive to Twickers is usually a total nightmare, but to our absolute delight, the M25 was completely clear! On a Friday night! During half term!!! Even through the road works!!! (you get the picture).
We had a great night and I had some lovely dances. We didn't do the whole fancy dress thing but a few people made the effort - 10 out of 10 to Rocky, Silver Fox and Groovy Dancer for the best costumes.
Now to the music. Now, I love soul music and I did enjoy every track played last night, but I do think Rocky and SF played it a bit too safe. Don't get me wrong, I love a bit of funky cheese as much as the next Numpty, but it was a bit too "anthemy" for me. Put it this was, we had Heart FM on in the car on the way to Twickers and Pete Waterman's play list was exactly the same as S'Funks. I do understand though that you're playing for the masses and compared to a standard Ceroc night the music was blinding.
Thanks to all my lovely leaders, Gav, Miguel, Latin Lover, Gerry, Rocky, to name a few. Gerry thanks so much for the CD, that was really very thoughtful of you and Miguel, stop lurking around the forum like some weird stalker and get posting!
Edit: I was going to add a few photo's on here, but they wont upload for some reason. They're on Facebook anyway.
