I have to mention this, as the advert on FB made me laugh (and its free)

The Legendary Monthly Sunday Tea Dance

Welcome to your FREE Monthly Sunday Tea Dance in Sutton which was launched yesterday, Sunday 22nd August. The Revolution Bar has all modern facilities and is fully airconditioned. Friendly staff, reasonably priced food and drink, a superb dancefloor, comfortable seating areas, and brilliant in-house sound & lighting. The location couldn't be more convenient for everyone - it's directly opposite Sutton train station

    Definitions of the word Legendary

"Extremely well known; famous or renowned"
"celebrated or described in a legend or legends"
    "very famous or notorious"
    "a known quantity"

    Hmm

    In defence of the above............

Legendary - because John Vassallo (the organiser) was the very FIRST organiser to have a modern jive/swing tea dance, must be nearly 20years ago now. It was really popular for many years and was frequented at the time by many of the best dancers and teachers

    As an extra .....
It was there we first saw West Coast Swing, and the very very first WCS lesson (within the modern jive scene that is) AND because of the popularity of them we brought (Maggie Casey to be exact) Robert Cordoba over from America to teach it to us properly.

    Leroy (Satchel) Paige (1906-1982)

Mickey Mouse's girlfriend, Minnie, made her film debut, along with Mickey, in "Steamboat Willie" on November 18, 1928.
That date is recognized as her official birthday.

Let's hope that Hammersmith has sorted out their floor by now, especially given the temperature at the moment...
