I think so. I remember Franck removing an insulting rep comment for me once... because it isn't public, doesn't mean you can abuse or get abused. If I remember well the person in question got an infraction for it
Is it possible to report rep comments if they are of a nature that would warrant reporting of a post were they contained within?

Rep is (unlike private messages) readable by the moderators.
So I suggest that if you get rep of an offensive nature that you drop a quick email to a moderator about it for them to check.
Good grief Rob, when did you become such a wuss?? Reporting neg rep.. Of course I can understand it of the French, but you??
You can report it by PMing us, or by using the report button, next the the post you were neg repped for.
You can make a request for what action you'd like us to take and we'll consider it!
If its seriously offensive, then we have the power to issue a 'warning' or an 'infraction'

I'm tired of standing in for you as the forum bully, I'd like to be the forum victim.
Actually, I don't plan to report it - just wondered what the stance was given the potential double standards (i.e you can do stuff in rep you can't do in a post) If people don't have the balls to post stuff like that for everyone to see then it's probably not worth spending time on.
You can report anything - it's just made easier to report specific posts.
But if you get any communication of any form, which is inappropriate, you can report that.
PMs are more tricky - unlike rep comments they can't be read by mods - so you'd have to forward the comment on. But you can still report it, and if it's offensive, you should.
Right, here's an official warning guys
Even though neither of you have actually reported that you want any action to be taken By the MODs, I don't want this to escalate any further!
If you have to slag each other off, please do so in private
Any abusive post will be removed by one of us!
As we want to encourage the forum to be a friendly and welcoming place

I understand what you're saying Lory but I don't think I have posted anything abusive. I have commented on quality of spelling and quality of dancing, the former is clear for all to see in the posts and the latter is I think fair comment in response to a post from him criticising the dancing of others. Stones and glasshouses, etc.
Perhaps you'd be better to rephrase
If you have to slag each other off, please do so in private

If you have to slag each other off, please do so away from the forum?
And here is an unofficial warning.
Stop whining about rep.
If it's abusive without swearing you are being told you're wrong - get used to it, some people aren't nice. Speaking personally, I'm less bothered by the rude rep as it says more about the giver than the receiver.
If it's abusive with swearing you've been sworn at and should report it to the moderators. Having said that, when rep contains swearing it says even more about the giver ...
From the FAQ:
Mainly because it's such a delightful change. If you receive a negative rep, please take it as constructive criticism, received by one of your fellow dancers, about a specific post. Remember that Rep comments are aimed at posts rather than people. Also, please be aware that many people see it as bad form to complain in public about specific negative reps received - it may even get you more negative rep (!).
