I've had an email about the new Hemsby weekender
10 - 13 June 2011
£119 FULL BOARD!
3 GREAT DANCE ROOMS
GREAT MEETING PLACE
FULL BOARD INCLUDED IN PRICE (breakfast, lunch & dinner in the restaurant)
ACCOMMODATION ALL ON ONE SITE
FREE PARKING
FREE ELECTRICITY
EXCLUSIVE to our dancers - NO SHARING with the public.
All sounds fantastic, especially the £119 which includes the full board. Also I'm really happy to see it's exclusive to dancers.
I know it's a bit early, but is anyone tempted by this weekender?
I've split this discussion off into its own thread - DavidY

Hmm it sounds very promising!
I'm always glad to see healthy competition, as I think even though certain formula's work and are in no doubt popular, sometimes its good for the punter when things get shaken up a little.
Its just keeps organisers on their toes and adds a little freshness to the air!

I be up for this, just a shame it was not in sept this year as June11 seems such a long way off.
As a virtual weekender virgin(Camber and Southport once) comparing venues would not be my strong point but nevertheless this is my view of Hemsby having done ONE night at the venue.
There appeared to be ample on site parking but I am not sure whether it was possible to park outside or close by your chalet.
The accomodation looked to be single storey and much as you would expect in comparison to Pontins weekender sites, bearing in mind that it was originally a Pontins site.
Incidently,on the other side of the road is the now derilect site of a much bigger site that was a Pontins camp where I spent a lot of my holidays when my children were growing up.Oh happy days.
It is certainly not a big camp so the walk from chalet to venue doesn't appear to be an issue. It woulD be interesting to know the actual numbers expected as this might have a bearing on the amount of temporary flooring that might possibly be required in the main room. The stage is quite elevated so there will be no trouble with teaching.I think the bar was along the entire length of the back wall of the room.
I was in another room with an elevated stage, that would be a good blues room. There were tables and chairs set out at one end of the reasonably lengthy room but if the space was needed for dancing there was a walkway down either side of the room that could be used for seating. At the side of this was a seperate bar/lounge of reasonable size.
During my quick scout round the place there was another room that was obviously used for short mat bowls that would be easily utilised for lessons,a fairly large snooker hall and one or two smaller room/lounges that would posibly make good areas for dance related sales or even 1 on 1 lessons.
The dining room was quite large and when I wandered through it was dinner time and it looked nicely laid out and the staff were busy.
There also appeared to be another restaurant off to the side of the dining room.
I dont think there was an area for outside dancing as at Southport and the outside grassed areas seemed relatively small
Bearing in mind that the site has been around for many many years, the chalets are probably what you would expect and there are bits and pieces that could do with sprucing up my overall impression was very favourable. The main reason for this was that it looked very comfortable.
Everywhere that there was seating looked comfortable;it was all the same furniture, same colour-white leather look chairs and two seater settees.
My overall impression was that it looks very promising and I am sure that JA will utilise the space and rooms to their full advantage and come up with another good weekender.
I am certainly looking forward to it.
If any guys are interested - I just checked - there is 1 male ticket for £135 I think it was, if you're happy to share as they seem to have had a person drop out.
Can't decide whether to grab it so thought i'd tell you folk if there's anyone interested. The possibility of seeing Myles and Tessa teach, and hearing folks DJ like Tessalicious sounds a darn fine deal (once you've worked out how to get there & Back!)
So - anyone wanting to snap the ticket up?
I did inquire late last year but at the time I did they'd already sold out of chalets that had showers.
The thought of a weekend dancing without access to a shower..
I'll try and catch a later weekender there, and see if friends want to do a group booking so I don't have to share with a stranger.
I see that the programme is out for this event
Well as there are apparently only 6 from the forum attending they will have already had the email and I suddenly assumed the rest of you couldn't give a tinkers cuss.
It was just a case of heads up really.
I am sure that the programme can be accessed from JA web site.
