Does anyone know anything about a ceroc weekend in Cambridge, this October. My sister sold it to me, saying its in a four star hotel etc, and when the paperwork came through its a Solos break! Does that mean there will be proper dancers there, or just desperados shuffling around the dance floor in the hope of getting their leg over. Help !!
Ha ha, you're right. Thought you were getting married anyway!
Sorry its full up but will let you know if you missed out!
Wha-wha-whaaaat? Ceroc weekender in Cambridge? Where on earth did you hear that? I'm a regular in those parts and I've not heard a single jot about any weekender!
It is in the solos brochure but is definately listed under the name ceroc, I had never seen or heard of either. It all looks very good just wondering who will go there.
I'm going to guess this one...
Love dance, will travel
Yes the very one, with handsome hunks and glamorous ladies if the brochure is to be believed. Sorry thought was fully booked, must be wrong.
It seems from here that the one in Sept is for Beginners, and the Oct one is for Intermediates.
And it looks like there's a Ceroc class on Friday night (then a freestyle) with another class on Saturday morning, and a "dinner dance" on Saturday night.
So I think it's a hotel break near Cambridge with sightseeing and some dancing, rather than the rather more hard-core "dance-eat-dance-eat-dance-dance-dance-sleep-repeat" nature of the weekenders organised by Ceroc/ Jive Addiction/ RockBottoms etc.
Love dance, will travel
I can only imagine the amount of naughtiness that goes on at one of these solo's weekenders. It's a master stroke to add ceroc dancing into the mix as it's so much easier to chat and get to know someone while learning to dance and you all have the added advantage of knowing you're all single (well, supposedly).
OK that clarifies it somewhat - so it's really a Huntingdon weekender, just they're choosing to say Cambridge/Cambridgeshire since that's presumably of more interest to most people. What the heck, who's counting the 20 miles in-between, eh?
Oh well, at least it will make a change from the Carry on Camping chalets of Southport and Brean, complete with dried snot on the walls and no kettle. Think if it's gonna be a grab and grind weekend, I will have to install cut throat cheese wire across my bedroom door (unless some fit blokes turn up of course) in which case am sure I can remove it at short notice.
Don't get drunk and make the schoolgirl error or thinking some Numpty is God's gift to women, just because he can dance. Been there, done that. [/QUOTE]
God tell me about it, my last experience of dating in ceroc was with your typical mr smooth, great on the dance floor. He was a 'music teacher, had a contract cleaning business and properies abroad'. Turned out he was a window cleaner with kids littered all over the place, a wife, and lived (part time) when not with his mrs, in a council flat. You couldn't make it up, I laugh about it now. You wonder where they get these stories for Take a Break and Bella!
Ha ha, don't joke, I did contemplate it, they pay around £500 for a good story like that. Imagine the shame brought upon Ceroc !
