    An experiment

I'm adding an anonymous poll, so there's no point in being nice - just be brutally honest

What are the main reasons you don't like dancing with people?
You can tick as many as you like!

I'm predicting that the top reasons won't be because someone's new/inexperienced or has a very limited repertoire

But lets see if this is 'really' true

sorry if I didn't mention your top hate but I've only got space for 25 options

Blimey, I'm not that fast at typing! You have to submit the thread, before you can make the poll!

Sorry, I don't understand that option, can you explain?

Pedantic I know but I think the poll would be more relevantly titled 'I don't like asking people to dance because...' since many of the options, if applicable, would make me reluctant to ask but would not necessarily mean I didn't like dancing with them.

Well, apparently (so I've heard) some men don't like asking sexily dressed ladies to dance because

a)they think their partner won't like it
    B) it makes them feel like a perve
    c) they worry that other people might think they're a perve!

Clearly David, you don't suffer from any of the above

Maybe that option should also include some gender balancing comments. Instead of just "low cut tops, short skirts", how about including: "hairy chests, pert bottom, big lunch box".

Hmm, I see what you mean BUT I want to cover why people would avoid being asked, as well as asking!

Will we find the converse experiment - reasons why I will seek someone out to dance?

The latter option appeals to my innate laziness.

That said, I will do it. I just don't want to steal someone else's idea!

don't worry, I'll do it, as my reasons are bound to be much better than yours anyway!

    And then there we two...

One of us should have included 'rough' as a reason to dance with someone... some people like that.

Nope, I have no fear that people might think I'm a perve.

    Everyone knows I'm a perve.

I think I suffer from this. I can still remember a lady actually stopping mid-way through a dance with me because I was wearing fishnet stockings and suspenders

When you think about it, being "too sexy" is actually a curse

Actually, my main reason for not dancing with someone isn't on the list: "I haven't seen them dance".

    As I recall, she said:

"I wouldn't have minded if you'd asked before you pulled them off me..."

When I think about you and "too sexy" at the same time it certainly feels like I've been cursed...

Eeek, reading that brings back a horrible memory...

I went to a Salsa venue once and having been watching a certain guy for a little while and thinking he looked good. I plucked up the courage to ask him to dance. And was faced with a very unexpected reaction

He looked me up and down, and in a tone that denoted a very definite refusal said.. I haven't seen you dance yet!

I didn't quite know what to say to that

What an arrogant git. I hope you didn't say anything to that and just slapped him. Hard.
