    Thames Festival 2010

It's nearly that time of year again...

11/12 September sees the return of live music, DJs, dance classes and an open air venue for the weekend at the Thames Festival.
Last year it was The Big Swing, this year it's Lady Luck's Jive Stage outside the Tate Modern.
Bands listed on the website so far include:
    Saturday

    Sunday

As well as constant music and dancing, there's tons else to do/see at the festival.

We had such a lovely time at this event last year...helped by the weather which was glorious. If you're thinking of making a weekend of it, I'd like to recommend the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge. It's about a 10 minute walk from the heart of the festival and a lovely new hotel with reasonable rates for central London (£141.00 per night for a double room...breakfast included)

No Tango there this year, again

Quick tip - on the Sunday, you can park around the back of the south side, quite easily, assuming you get there early enough.

'tis worth mentioning though, that although I do go on about Lindy Hop and swing bands a bit, there's plenty of MJ-able stuff and as far as I'm aware, no snooty attitudes from the swingers/rock'n'rollers.
