    Band hire

This is one for the commercial operators out there (or anyone else that has an insight).

If you were hiring a band for a dance night and it happened to be a fairly big band in the dance world (thinking of the Jive Aces, Swing Commanders etc), how much would you expect to pay?

(I've seen the agency websites that list huge amounts of bands, but I'm not convinced that commercial operators would use them when they could book directly with the band and save £££s.)

    Re: Band hire

I have looked at booking bands in before. A small local band will norm cost £300 and a larger one like the Jive Aces, Expect around £1500.

These figures might not be accurate anymore. Last time I looked at getting a band in was a few years back.

In addition to the hire charge you would also probably need to add the cost of any travel expenses incurred.

Put your own band together. Then it would be free and you can play exactly what you want
