I agree he hasn't exactly distinguished himself (unnecessary snide comments about Craig aside - he didn't do himself any favours with those), but given that he's 72 years old with no prior dance experience, I think he did OK.

He was under rated. Rare footage shows just what he is capable of:

And that's with Ann W. Just think what what he would have been like with Flavia doing Tango.

Well, I dunno. I mean, sure, he was short, ugly, old, bald, and with no discernable dance talent. But then, so am I.

I respected the fact that he actually tried to dance, you know? He worked at it. Which is a damn sight better than Widders.

Yes, of course he was one of the worst dancers, but I don't think he was fairly treated. People talk about him ogling Ola, but I've not heard a peep about PsychoPammie's wibblings, which frankly are pretty gross in parts.

I disagree with at least 2 of your descriptors; the others are debatable.

Isn't she just a prime, but harmless exemplar for those fresh meat seeking cougarish ladies stalking the dance hall jungles of the South East and beyond?

PS Widders - in case you didn't know, was given the opportunity to pull out this week as her brother died on Tuesday I think. So maybe she has had some distractions.......

    Anton gives Widders a call.

Thanks to Lory for doing the voice over on this one..........

    Re: Strictly Come Dancing 2010

So this week is Charleston and Jive

    Charleston

    • Kara and Artem
    • Peter and Erin
    • Matt and Aliona
    • Patsy and Robin
    • Tina and Jared
    • Jimi and Flavia

    (Italics are "probably")

    Tango
    • Ann and Anton
    • Michelle and Ian
    • Pamela and James
    • Gavin and Katya
    • Scott and Natalie
    • Felicity and Vincent

    Some thoughts:

Kara and Artem: I dunno why, but I can't warm to this couple, even though they're clearly technically good.

Peter and Erin: Poor Erin, she's clearly still being punished for Dollgate with her partners. Although, of course, Austin Was Robbed.

Matt and Aliona: What on Earth is going on with her hair? Scary. That aside, clearly very good technically - I used to think Matt was clearly the best, but now I think he has competition from Scott.

Patsy and Robin: Boring boring boring, please go away very quickly.

Tina and Jared: I think she could be quite good, but Jared looks about 9 and he's not a ballroom expert, so I've no idea what the producers were thinking of when they invited him...

Ann and Anton: the bit... when he... they... oh, what's the point?

Michelle and Ian: From watching It Takes Two yesterday, I think Michelle's more comfortable with Ian than Brendan; so it's possible that Ian can bring out more from her. Although Michelle's main problem is that She's Not Very Good At Dancing.

Pamela and James: I've no idea why she's getting such high marks - her salsa was mediocre at best. Plus, if she could stop talking, just for one week, about her private parts or her lust for James, then that would be nice.

Gaving and Katya: Kudos to Katya for actually getting someone with approximately 1 brain cell to actually move, but I can't help thinking she's on a losing streak with him.

Scott and Natalie: Excellent movers, plus there's something scary about Natalie which I personally find quite attractive.

Felicity and Vincent: Another Not Very Good dancer. Again, Vincent is probably being punished for something or other...

At the moment they're my favourites. Kara played Gina Moliano in SkyOne's Dream Team, which I enjoyed - and Artem is gorgeous.

Matt and Aliona: What on Earth is going on with her hair? Scary. That aside, clearly very good technically - I used to think Matt was clearly the best, but now I think he has competition from Scott.
I like her hair, but I recognise that I'm in the minority. The trouble with Matt is that he's already so good, we won't get The Journey.....

Michelle and Ian: From watching It Takes Two yesterday, I think Michelle's more comfortable with Ian than Brendan; so it's possible that Ian can bring out more from her. Although Michelle's main problem is that She's Not Very Good At Dancing.
I really hope she listens to Len & gets some lower heeled shoes. It'll make a difference.

Pamela and James: I've no idea why she's getting such high marks - her salsa was mediocre at best. Plus, if she could stop talking, just for one week, about her private parts or her lust for James, then that would be nice.
I think that there's a naturalness to her dancing. She's being slightly overmarked, but it's not too annoying yet.

Gaving and Katya: Kudos to Katya for actually getting someone with approximately 1 brain cell to actually move, but I can't help thinking she's on a losing streak with him.
I can't help thinking that the BBC need to feed him with beer or something before the show, so that he loses his inhibitions.

Felicity and Vincent: Another Not Very Good dancer. Again, Vincent is probably being punished for something or other...
Maybe he's upset one of the Tango equivalent of The Ten? Hmmm.... I wonder if they're known as The Tengo?

I like 'her' more than him, which I didn't think I would.

    Peter and Erin:
He's rubbish but he clearly can't see it.. unlike Paul Daniels, who actually gained a bit of respect from me when he held his hands up and said, I agree, I'm the worst here

Matt and Aliona: What on Earth is going on with her hair?
I like her hair too and talking about her, I thought she out classed Flavia by a mile in the professional Charleston routine! That routine was brilliant!

Patsy and Robin: Boring boring boring, please go away very quickly.
Can't stand the over dramatic bit when they get through!

    Tina and Jared:
    Not bad but not great

    Ann and Anton:
As bad as they are, I still look forward to it.

    Michelle and Ian:
I haven't seen this bit of news.. so Bredan's not with her this week.. that'll be interesting!

Pamela and James: I've no idea why she's getting such high marks -
Well, I like her! (just wished she wouldn't try to be sooooo sincere, when thanking everyone, Yuk!)

    Gaving and Katya:
He's the epitome of what I can't stand.

Scott and Natalie: Excellent movers, plus there's something scary about Natalie which I personally find quite attractive.
    My Favs

Felicity and Vincent: Another Not Very Good dancer.

I didn't like Flavia's dance or what she was wearing.. it just didn't work for me

I'm actually much preferring the American 'Dancing with the Stars' this season.

I liked the way they resolutely refused to play Claudia's game of calling the competitors all "adorable".

Shame WCS is not on the agenda - would love to see how Tina would get on with her pro partner (see him dancing with Benji's sister)

They would not look out of place at Cheshunt.........

Anyway, tonite........I can't see Peter Shilton not being in the bottom 2. (Meaning - I think he will be in the bottom 2). Although he has 'upped' his game - so have all the others.

Prediction: bottom 2 - Michelle and Peter. It is going to be tight - with a bunch of scores in the 28-34 range.

I can't be bothered to watch tonight - the Flying Widdecombe has really put me off.

Plus, they're doing AT next week, which will probably go horribly wrong.

It's turning into a bit of a circus now.

    Oh dear God. Felicity's "tango."

I only hope the tubigrips and Tenapants were firmly in place.

Why didn't Vincent cut the nonsense and make it cool, classy and connected?

Patsy Kensit wants to know which animal she's going to be compared with this week. By the looks of her lips, I'd say a trout.
