Since moving in with Mrs CRM her house is now our house, her garden is now our garden, which means that I have a greater interest in getting rid of the dirty cats that cr@p all over the flowerbeds, lawn, even concrete paths sometimes. Anyone have any suggestions short of trapping the things and releasing them onto a busy motorway?
I've heard of all kinds of solutions including human urine, but none of them seem to work. Where I used to live we had a small zoo up the road and our neighbours tried using tiger poo as that's meant to work, but it didn't.
The only thing I've ever known to work, is having a cat. In all the years I had a cat, we never once had a problem (the neighbours without cats did though!) .
Water - hose pipe, super soaker or one of the automated devices like this http://www.podington.co.uk/cat-dog-c...deterrent.html
i can vouch for the supersoaker. Great fun trying to hit them off the back garden fence when they stop coming into the garden.
you can buy it online

You could try Coleus canina (Also known as Plectranthus caninus) which was fairly widely available in garden centes last year. No idea if it works.

Also, plant closely and don't leave large bare areas of cultivated soil. If there is lots of leaf cover there is less available loose soil for cats to leave you a little surprise present in.
