Yes they have. At the rate they're borrowing money and flashing it around, we'll all be poor.

I imagine Mr Brown has something similar to his lovely pensions raid to assist with his huge debt if he gets back in.

    Re: Election Debate on TV

Looks like someone has just leaked the exit poll results as the odds have changed dramatically in the last few mins. (it's now 9.45pm).

Now looks like a Conservative majority.............(odds-on).

    Hope not

Crikey - and 2 mins later it's swung back............can't believe it. Must be lots of money sloshing round on this one............

I said I've got money on Gordon, I didn't say I was confident I would win.

I have a feeling I wont see that quid again.

Well........if you have the bet as him as next PM (as opposed to Labour winning) - you do still have a chance...................as the Lib-Lab pact resurfaces.

It seems the decision as to who is going to the next PM is up to one man - NIck Clegg

That's not the only option, not to mention that the other leaders have to offer a coalition before he can chose one or the other (also, Lab and Lib-dem will have to win all of the remaining seats to be able to form a joint majority).

Ha! David Cameron is totally going for it. He's desperately trying to persuade us that the Lib Dems and Tory's actually have enough in common to join forces so he can become PM. I can't wait to see which way Nick Clegg will go. Clearly the Lib Dems have more in common with Labour, but will he go with the party who has the biggest majority? It's better than Eastenders this is!

Well he must think that Clegg is stupid. His current speech includes such gems as "the Tories and Lib Dems can discuss electoral reform, with an all-party committee of inquiry set up to discuss the issue." - In other words "you can have your little discussion about it, because I know it will never lead to any agreement"; and he's talking about "deals" not about Coalition, which is what the Lib-dems want (quite understandably).

Well, I reckon it's almost certain that Cleggy will accept the offer.

He doesn't want the alternative of being Mandy's poodle...........

It’s funny how two parties that are in some ways diametrically opposed, especially proportionate representation, may suddenly find they can work together as a team , hmmm the expression power corrupts comes to mind

Wow! Who on earth described New Labour as 'socialist'? Might as well call the Tories 'fascist'.

I've been reading a lot about the US 'teabaggers' on various blogs recently. Those guys are nuts. They seem to operate from some sort of deep-seated belief that the country has been stolen from them by - er, by the other people who live in the country.

They don't see this as democracy proceeding exactly as it should, but rather as some sort of cheating, underhand, sneaky, double dealing which couldn't be defeated with honest American mom-and-apple-pie values.

I have to add, however, that it's all fabulously entertaining. Did you see the pictures of Sarah Palin with the writing on her palm? Hilarious.

I remember an animal in the Dr Seuss books which had a tail that was so long that it would bite the tail before going to sleep - the message reached its brain just in time to wake it up. I find myself wondering if Palin writes 'Push back bedclothes. Stand up. Go to bathroom.' on her hand, before going to sleep. (On the bathroom mirror, obviously, it says 'Clean teeth. Take shower.')

Compared to the Thatcher government, they are socialist, in the loosest sense but compared to the labour party of the 70/80's, then no obviously not.

Well it's the 'weirdy beardy' mob in the LibDems who are stopping Nick from consummating the blissful coalition with the Cons. Maybe he will just give them an ultimatum in the next few hours........and maybe an outside chance of it splitting the LibDems.......who are their own little rainbow alliance anyway.

Nick would be in there like a shot if it was up to him.......Home Secretary and invitations to dinner with Dave & Sam Cam - what more could a man want?
