My guess is that it made a loss. The balance sheet for a dance competition is a very precarious thing and can be tipped into loss very easily.

After speaking to them about the DVD from last years event (that actually took 7 months to be sent out) they gave me the impression that they were going ahead with this year-but heard on the bongo drums that it wasnt-sent an email to them to be told that last year was their best year but unfortunately the event wouldnt be going ahead

I think it was the sheer amount of work required to run a competition. Lots of work for (I imagine although have no direct way of knowing) not much financial return.

It was my favorite competition: the closest national comp to where I live, lovely venue. I'll miss it.

Possibly .............. but it might also have something to do with the organiser getting married last year
