    Swimming Pools at Weekenders

Has anyone used the pools at Weekenders. I thought it might have been nice at Camber but forgot my cossie. Any opinions on

    Camber
    Southport
    Brean

or is it best avoided as they are full of broken glass and plastic 4 can holders Helpful hints, like they don't switch on the pool heating until 10am would be appreciated as well. Does it cost anything to use?

The idea of floating and not having to put weight on my feet is appealing.

I went swimming at Camber in the Pontins pool one time. I don't remember much about it beyond, oddly, the trainers I wore to walk there and back which I guess means the experience was neither sufficiently good or bad to be memorable.

The pools and various chutes, etc at Skegness Butlins were great fun.

I'll go as far as to say, I've noticed there's a pool at Brean Sands, as you can see into it as you walk by!

    p.s., it looks OK

plus, a big bonus is, I expect they're very peaceful

How about getting a waterbed then - mine is absolutely fantastic, (in every respect, including for sleeping in.)

Yep, the pool is peaceful and I even went swimming twice at Breeze last year! Be warned, the waft of chlorine will seep out of you in the evening!

    Re: Swimming Pools at Weekenders

I seem to recall going swimming at Camber one time - maybe the first weekender I went on. It was fine - nothing remarkable, bit like a local authority pool.

I wanted to go Saturday morning at Storm too (was a bit achey, thought it would be a good way to stretch out before hitting the dance floor), but got around there to find a sign up saying "closed for maintenance till 1pm", but the pool was only supposed to be open 10-1 and then 2-5 or something like that...

It's great that weekenders nowadays leave plenty of time for swimming.

One of the first weekenders I went on - I think it may have been Bognor - had an amazing pool. Lovely surrounding, shutes, slides and all the toys to play on with - wait for it - NO KIDS. It was great fun!! And just a handful of people. The weekend was worth it just for that.

Camber and Southport must've changed since I was last there, I didn't realise that was an option.

Am I the only person who doesn't use the pools at weekenders for fear of people seeing me in my swimming costume?
