Glasgow's a bit far for me, but I wonder if your niece is doing the same trek as my friend - although can't remember if hers is in March or May (She's holding a charity dance as well).
Good luck to your niece, and with the fundraising.
While this is, in effect, an advert, I am putting up this thread with Franck's kind permission as it is in aid of charity.
Myself, my husband and sister-in-law (Angelic) are holding a charity dance in Glasgow on Saturday the 23rd of January. Our niece is undertaking a trek along the Great Wall of China in March in aid of the charity Have A Heart, and we are helping her to raise funds.
The dance will be held in the Grand Ballroom at Sloans on Argyle Street, from 8pm to 1am. DJ Nix will be providing the tunes, with Dance Demon also doing a guest spot.
While perhaps not on the same grand scale as some of the wonderful charity dances previously publicised on the forum, we're still aiming to make it a great night, and would be delighted if any forumites were able to make it along.
Tickets are £8 per head, and are available in advance from myself or Angelic in Glasgow; in addition they are being sold in Stirling and Edinburgh (get in touch for details). Tickets will also be available to buy on the door.
Thank you, and hope to see some of you there!

Just a note to say thank you to everyone who helped make the dance such a success. We raised £1460, which far exceeded our expectations, and has gone a long way towards helping our niece reach her target. Thanks again
Fantastic result! Well done all of you.
Fantastic!!! glad it was such a sucess - just sorry I wasn't able to be there
