    Apparently they have "cancelled" all plans to hold the march now in any case. Makes me wonder whether they really intended to do it at all, or just wanted cheap publicity. They certainly achieved their aim if so.

    As this is a pretty small organisation I would expect MI5 to already have their addresses, full postcodes, mobile phone numbers and Tesco clubcard details on file

    These groups thrive on publicity and the media fall into their hands every time, but then again it helps sell papers or advertising space, yes I am very cynical.

    You're right, publicity strengthens any campaign. But if the media did not cover it (impossible to arrange perhaps), when people did find out it had happened, there'd be a "why were we not informed" backlash!
