been watching them all , and yes, on catchup - i have V+ too, far better than that Sky+ nonsense.

There'll be bonus points for the dance event that signs up Mark Calape - winner of "Move like Michael Jackson" with his group Animaineax - and now currently in the last 12 of "so you think you can dance". He is clearly a dance genius.

I'm curious about what will happen in the "got to dance": do they have to choreograph and come up with new stuff to wow us?

"So you think you can dance" is about the individual: they are given stuff to wow us with and trained in it - much easier to be an armchair critic when everyone is in the same boat (rather than the huge variation there seems to be in GTD)

    I agree with the Sky+ thing - how ever did we watch TV without it? {It gets bad when the kids are so used to recording their cartoons that they don't understand this 'live' TV where you can't just FF past the adverts }

yes indeed, "pause it Dad"..."I can't pause this TV" or... "I want to see that again" "You can't, this TV doesn't automatically record"

so basically theres the main super tv and some less useful smaller tv's - the kids are getting used to this

My less super TV's are simply slaves to DVD's and game stations that can be paused and re-wound... Probably adds to the confusion

Another dance show is coming to Sky1 in Feb.

I recorded this and watched it this evening... and whilst its not really a dance show, as such. I have to admit, I found it thoroughly entertaining.
Its full of characters, you'll either love or hate (mostly hate in my case! )

Yep. All under 16 as well.

The kid who won was amazing. The box were pretty good too (one routine was much better than the other though)

Wasn't too keen on MJ latin and the chinese contempory dancer.

Can't remeber the others now. Such a bad memory.

Yes, the kid who won was only 10!!!! Akai, I believe!

I loved 'The Box' too and 'Jukebox Juniors'

I agree about MJ latin and also wasn't that keen on the little girl from Scotland, although there was no doubt she was amazing, I didn't particularly enjoy her 'style' but I disagree about the Chinese boy, I loved his routines!

Re: Got to Dance - Starts Jan 3rd.

Personally I think the cuteness factor was a big thing in choosing the acts who got through to the final. The general public voted as much based on, "They're so cute!" or "Isn't she good for her age?" as on dance ability. Some acts shouldn't have been in the final, and some of the best ones were knocked out by the public vote.

That said, I agreed with the overall result. I said all along that either Matthew Koon or Akai should win, and Akai won on pure talent rather than because of his age.

I found it very entertaining but then I read a TV critics opinion that it was a spoof and it kind of spoilt it a bit.
I am afraid that the OTT character(you know the one I mean) while being quite funny at times was just too much for me.
I shall keep on watching though.

It wasn't a spoof , it is too much like every other judged talent show to be so.

Its a bit of a weird one, as the characters really do work there and having had experience of the place, as my daughter used to dance there regularly, I know first hand, the place is full of nutters!
Most who go there are 'performers' and believe me, they'll perform at the drop of a hat, especially if there's a camera in front of them!
We have to remember this is London's No1 dance studio, where professionals and budding stars go to rehearse all the time. And a lot of them really are that 'affected' and camp!

There's some VERY obviously staged bits, like the police scene but I do believe a lot of it's genuine, like the audition for 'La Cage aux Folles' for example, as auditions for west end productions take place all the time there.

In my former life (pre children) I went to a number of auditions (and got some of them )at Pineapple and Lory is spot on!! It's completely camp and full of drama - but thats fairly acurate for the industry as a whole

I am loving this new series - bring it on!

I don't know what your talking about... look at the title

I thought this was an interesting article..

Personally, I love watching all programmes about dance, especially the training and progression, which for my liking they never show enough of but I wonder that side of it would appeal to the general public?

The Strictly Wheelchair Dancing has been interesting for "behind the scenes" coverage.

As the teacher for all the couples, Brian Fortuna doesn't hold back: "If you're not going to respect what I tell you then f*** off" (not exact quote but close enough).
