    Tea Dances

Does anyone remember going to the Tea Dances on the HMS President at Blackfriars? or was it Embankment. Anyway I went twice (found the slope in the middle of the dancefloor odd. The second time i went Mike was teaching. He used to have excuse me's and another section where all would "freestyle" using the moves he just taught and he would chose a winner. He chose me, and i found the class difficult. anyway just a bit of waffle. what i'm interested to know if similar classes or tea dances exist and whether excuse me's and such like still operate.

I had a superb visit to a HMPresident tea dance way back. They stopped for a while while the boat was refurbished but resumed again. Maybe next summer?

was there the last time I went and the floor was still sticky - but a great place to go and the atmospher is great

There are lots of tea dances on a Sunday with classes these days, but have to say I still think the President is the best

Am I living in a parallel universe ? The Tea Dances on the HMP are still going strong. It is one of my favourite venues and the most recent dance was on 29th Nov - just over 2 weeks ago. As always, Erick played some fab Sunday afternoon tunes (with a few more lively ones thrown in so that I can have a coffee & cake break and not have a fomo attack).

errr, yes. It is a boat, and that is how it was built ! You just have to dance a little more carefully & closely - which in my opinion, is no bad thing.

I appreciate the design of the boat but it still didn't help if you were in the first line during the class

simple answer to that one have your tea and cake while the class is on this has two effects one you dont have trouble dancing on the slope and two you get the best tea and cakes before all the others come down
