if you love the life you live then you'll get a lot more done
Thats the problem. As The Blues and Latin rooms are bigger and multifunctional, you loose the intimacy etc as a result.
We agree then, Southport is a much better venue but Camber is sold out almost before it is put on the market and Brean and Skegness have the same problem. This is also true at Breeze, where the distance between venues looks greater. Granted the Southport arrangement of rooms under the same roof is preferable. Compared to Camber I believe 3 good sized freestyle rooms playing different music or styles, even if not under the same roof is preferable to having only 2 in total.
I think if you ask most people that attend Southport the appeal of outside dancing and chilling out there during the day is a big attraction and what about October, I think I was outside most of the time. I suppose if you are doing the workshops all day this would be unimportant but after at least six years of dancing, I find that odd. While this is true, it isn't of great importance. Outside Southport June it is hit and miss at Ceroc weekenders.
Bigger maybe, better no. You think the floor in the Latin room was good? Where were people not having their shoes torn apart? For the main room agreed, the floor wasn't nearly as good as at Southport. But I think for the other rooms the floor/floor layout is preferable at Skegness
You obviously did not stay in one of the Nisssan huts opposite The Latin Room. There was a very small dingy room, an even smaller shower room with no outside window and thats it and the condition was horrid and I mean horrid. For that I paid £225. Not only that it was sold as silver standard accomodation. When I checked with Butlins they confirmed they sold that accomodation as basic.I'm extremely surprised you think this. The very idea of expecting better accomodation at Pontins . I think the standard accommodation is plenty good enough. I don't think it is something that needs gritting your teeth and putting up with, such as Southport.
Do you know anybody that stayed there? I think you will find it is gold standard and that was not an option on offer. On the location of better quality accomodation there is also very good quality accomodation nearby to the south of the dance areas. Granted I don't think you've been able to specify the location when booking, which would be desirable.
Firstly there was a load of drunks to pass each evening, then the screaming kids in the morning.I don't see as necessarily bad. Given the nature of the site the demographic tends to be parents and young children. In a way not having dancers everywhere makes for a less claustrophic weekend.
I assume you are a guy, ask some of the single women what they thought about it.
Frodo you have been dancing for six years. What good has this alledged better teaching done you.A few other things that come to mind:-
Still better teachers/workshops and greater variety. *
I never watch the cabarets, so I can't comment on this. But I disagree with your link between teachers and quality of cabaret. As regards the Tango cabarets, the Skegness cabaret was considered far inferior to that at Southport. This was the only cabaret that I specifically enquired into. At Skegness the Tango cabaret was put on at the same time as the Tango Milonga. Great planning.Better cabarets (as a consequence).
You must be joking. The music on offer at Southport especially during the day was commended.for its varietyGreater variety in music. *
Why. The rooms are long across the stage. Therefore the people at the ends could not see anythingThe teaching areas are far better shaped for that purpose than those at Southport.
.There is a decent amount of relevant freestyle between classes
Which meant that there were less lessons during the day that could be attended and if you did want to practise you could go to the igloo at Southport.
I found them the same. Blimey this is getting a bit desparate.Butlins staff are incomparably better.
Are you talking about non dance facililities? If so I agree but for me it is all about the dancingThe on site facilities are far better.
Frodo after all the other areas of debate between us that you could have discussed it came down to Ceroc v JA.
I suggest we now take Ruby Red's advise

I have been done over by an intellectual.
The horror, the horror, the horror, when will it ever end?
I am afraid, very afraid to sneeze, in case my brain shoots out of my nose.
However I may be a selection of fast, tuned up cars in the mountains.
Ie I may be ralliying.

It wasn't an issue for me personally (though the dancers crashing about in the chalet above me at the June one was ) but I know it was for some. Ear plugs don't help a great deal with certain kinds of noise but, yes, I suspect many will simply take your last piece of advice if given the choice between a mixed and non-mixed weekend.
Totally agree Rosie my love.
Skeggy last time was spoilt by the muggles - not that they were doing anything wrong but keeping me awake when i wanted my lay in or my afternoon snooze.
Didn't go back.
Trying a new one in February and deffo will be looking to get to southport in Summer.... dont know what else yet. !!!
Fuss about weekenders, no its not fuss, its an ache in ya heart that you get if you miss too much. Its the heat in ya groins when ya get that perfect moment. Its the lust in your eyes when ya get ya partner home and take it out on them LOL
