Friday night was brilliant - very social, good dancing, mainly in the main room because that was were everyone I knew tended to hang out. Great to see so many from my local venues there, - apparently all the Surrey venues were pretty much empty this weekend.

Saturday night for me was "okay" - spoilt somewhat simple because I felt cream crackered from a very late friday night, not much sleep and lots of classes Sat daytime.

For me, Sunday night was by far the best night of dancing, spent mainly in the blues room, I had some wonderful dances, - so many good dancers in there, and the music was spot on.

A couple of quick forumite mentions, - nice to meet Fletch & Halo, - Halo's a lovely mover! I was lucky enough to have a trio of dances with Rachel - absolutely superb. And the very last three fantastic dances with Lory was the perfect end to a great weekend.

Classes, I enjoyed all the ones I did:

Carl's slotted class - Brilliant routine and very well taught
Adam's smooth class - Another lovely routine
Karen's Steal class - first time tagging for me, great fun
Alina's Salsa class Sat eve - Good fun (but prob one class too many that day)
Dance Phychology - Very interesting, andI had some lovely compliments
whispered in my ear! Pity I'll never know who from!
Steve Kemp's Musicality class - First class I've done with him, great teacher - really enjoyed it.
Marc & Rachel's Cuban Blues - beautiful routine

The name Steve Kemp makes me sounds like a member of Spandau Ballet! It`s Steve Hunt and i`m glad you enjoyed the class.....

    My thoughts on the weekend.....

Great to see so many new faces having an awesome time....The music was top notch with the exception of 1 set on saturday evening which nearly sent me to sleep but generally it was great music....The only downer was the bloody awful weather.....But if that`s the only bad thing to note then you know you`ve had a great time!

    Camber

    The not so good

    The journey

    The weather

The cabaret, what we had was good but just seemed a bit missing

The floor craft, and lack of etiquette, I went to bed 5 am on Friday/Saturday morning I was in danger is smacking Someone.

    Missing friends

Not getting a dance with Mike Ellard

    The Good

    Swingers hour

Camber always seems to have a younger crowd

Having fab friends that helped me get there

    Maddy and Joe

My apartment buddies, Halo, Catherino and Alan

    Brief encounters

Everyone that looked after Joe, especially Colleen and Richard.

    fab weekend, i'm shatterd.

Aye aye sport fans, another blinding weekend.

Me and the Bat gave it large and danced until we were knackered then went to bed. Really enjoyed the daytime dancing. I kept looking for our French dance colleagues but never came across them, shame as I want'ed to dance with them.

TWIRLY------Stone me!!! Turned into a hottie or what? You look marvellous baby, Beo! You is a lucky boy is you.

Zebra Woman, Rocky, Silver Fox and Loco Man, bang on the lot of you.

Big Thanks To Mike for finding us a chalet nice and near to the venue.

All in all a great weekend with great company as we expect from Ceroc.

Damn if I had my head any further up Mike's ar*e every time he cleaned his teeth he would polish my head.

See you all at the next one pips.

And another thing I think I may have solved the gender balancing issue with women(Devil's work the lot of them), booking ghost men.

If a woman turns up without a man, having booked with one----do what my PE Teacher used to do to people who forgot their sports kit------------------------------------Make them dance in their underwear all weekend.

You can use this down the club you know.

Won't it backfire. Surely the women dancing in their underwear will get more dances than all the other women put together. Therefore, not only do they have the audacity to book with phantom men, they then get to hog all the men when they get there.

Surely the best punishment is to issue them with a blow-up partner when they arrive without their co-booked man. There could be blow-up-men for those that normally follow, blow-up-women for those that like to mix and match with their lead and follow, and blow up sheep for those that have booked twice in a row with phantom men (OH, the shame!) To make the tar and feathers punishment complete a photographer with a polaroid can stand outside reception ready to capture the moment and pin the picture on a wall-of-shame.

    Too medieval for you DTS?

    Re: Camber-the afterglow

My first post in a while.

An emotional weekender for me in that in was the last performance from our team cabaret. An amazing experience has come to an end. Hopefully, we will manage some new things that involve not quite so much effort and commitment. I am gagging to try the current suggestion. Thanks to all the team.

Respect for the Thriller cabaret. I cannot imagine the hard work that goes into choreographing and creating the show and pulling it all together in only three hours. Genius and thanks all for your efforts. I certainly enjoy the cabarets that show what we can achieve and inspire others to try.

It was my first time on stage as well and it was great to be asked. I particularly enjoyed the rapport with audience watching them laugh and clap and make jokes and feedback afterwards. This meant work in the day time preparation and videoing. I now have respect for any teacher who makes it out at night as I managed less dancing.

    The good
    Tag with KPS and Kathleen.
The foxy funkster returning to the world of tag and one of my favourite taggers.

    The bad
Didn't enjoy the traffic on the journey down and then the queue to get in although I know the queue will get sorted for next time.
2000 dancers made it harder to find and recognize people and left the dance floor a bit cramped.
Loss of the hallowed and sacred wooden floor in the blues room. I miss the days when that area was the cabaret/showcase and only foolish beginners waded in.

    That's all folks
    Steve
