Trojan Horse Back door Hupigon 5AANC

When my existing paid for anti virus expired I left it for a while and then someone suggested AVG for free which can do just as a good a job

I have down loaded AVG and it has found the above a Trojan Horse Back Door etc

Looking it up re google I guess I should be worried ? AVG says after it finished the scan it has been moved to 'virus fault' ? does that make it safe ?

Google messages on this one are mixed

My computer already it seems re buted all my application it took 30 mins (I lost word/excel files) I allowed it to do it

Bottom line does this need professional cleaning ??

My biggest concern is losing all my pictures word docs (important ones have all be sent out via e-mail so i can get them back)

    Help

could be a false positive - you may not have a virus at all - but best get someone who knows what they are doing to look into it for you

    Do you have a rash?

Does it hurt when you pee?

If you have a mince pie wedged in any orifices-----I may have some cream for that.

If you think you may have broken your arm in a number of places, Avoid those places in future.

If your pc gets a virus, put a hat and scarf on it, plenty of fluids and lashings of chicken soup.

    Hope this helps Stew.

    Further thoughts sport fans.-----

    Is it's nose cold?

Does your pc drag it's rear end along the carpet? Sure sign of worms that mate.

Are there white bits in it's poo? More signs of worms there.

Are you keeping up to date with the Bob Martins?

Have you had it de-flead recently?

    My door is always open!!!

You should be able to look up the virus dscription on the AVG site. I am in the middle of a battle against a worm transmitted via USB memory sticks and even the SD memory cards from inside a camera. You really have to know what the effects are and where it may have spread.

A quick search says some variants of this virus are key loggers - any passwords you may have typed should be considered insecure and changed ASAP

    this advice worked for me

Make sure you repeat the MB scan at least twice, hard-resetting PC aftre each scan. Also do a scan in Safe Mode (when computer boots, hold F8 key until Windows Boot Menu appears, and select safe mode either VGA or with Networking)."

This looks a bit old (updated Nov 2005) but might be worth a try, it has had some favourable mentions -

And if all else fails, and you're brave/foolish enough to delve into your registry, here are details for doing it manually -

I'm now feeling a bit paranoid about Vundo and other nasties!

different trojan but it should work

doing two scans one in safe mode and a reboot was essential
