I assumed the green fly invasion was just around where lived. Killing my roses (pre spray attack)
However its just as bad 30 miles away
Any one notice this invasion of bugs
Never know anything like it

The last time I saw anything like this was when ceroc windsor announced a free night you should have seen the invasion of women
Which of course will be the answer to the greenfly invasion!
As far as I'm aware (and I was a mere fledgling at the time) the last time there was a really 'bad' greenfly year the next year was a really 'good' ladybird year (for 'bad' and 'good' read - lots of).
I remember playing with a dolls house out in the garden at my grans in Cheshire and it being invaded by ladybirds - lovely.
Greenfly seem to be at normal or lower levels in Leicester, so do blackfly.
Surely they can't be capable of migrating from Hemel Hempstead?
I haven't seen a ladybird or larva for weeks.
Lily beetle are pretty much absent too.
Simple answer on sighting - I wipe them off the stems with my fingers. A little messy, but instant, organic and satisfying!
I nearly ate one yesterday, it was in among the cherries I'd picked off the tree, even thought I'd washed them. (not well enought though)
