I only did one class at Breeze and this was it.. was only planning to watch with Tess, when a foursome had one spare lady and we thought we'd help out, (even though we came in late) - turned out all three of us totally loved it (great energy on stage Alex btw)
I often tag and get tagged especially when KPS or DTS are around (he and Batgirl pulled one on me on my first weekender at Camber 08 which was totally awsome!!)
and the effect on the unsuspecting follow can be quite profound ;-)
As a follower i have never been asked, and that is part of the fun.
A few years ago at Blaze Marc and Rachael did a steal dance workshop at midnight on the last night, it was great fun as you never knew who you would be dancing with next. The rest of that evening the room was dedicated to "stealing" which was confusing for those that had missed the workshop. but very amusing to watch as they either had their partner stolen or swapped.
When I have been "stolen", you do not always end up back with your original partner, last time was at Rutherglen and the whole room was joining in and I started dancing with Franck and ended up dancing with Firefly, in between dancing with about 7 or 8 other dancers.
In my experience I find that if Franck and Marc are in the same room dancing, then expect the unexpected
at storm 2009 Dts and i started a mass tag in the blues room at about 9 pm one eve
we ended with 27 dancers playing and it went on for 7 tracks
great fun for all involved
most of the time when we tag its done with the knowledge of the leads but not necessarily the follow normally when the follow doesnt expect it we get an excited squeal from them and always get thanked at the end of the dance
There are odd occasions when the lead isnt expecting his partner to be stolen (filthy monkey often does it to me) when this happens i just steal her right back again
There are times that i am so into the track that i dont want to play i will generally move away from those who might do this
personally i love tag
