What a wonderful article - although the study first quoted doesn't mention the stress it takes to first find your tango partner.
Thought you tangueuro and tanguera's might be interested in this article. Seems there is scientific proof that tango is good for you

Other than trying to learn WCS, I don’t remember ever feeling as stressed as I do right now trying to learn Tango (need tearing out hair icon), so can’t wait for it to become therapeutic
I read it more as the benefits of AT to people generally and then how this may help individual relationships.
There seems to be various studies going on currently in relation to the use of dance in treating various types of stress related conditions and depression. In my opinion the help comes from the connection you feel.
I would be interesting to find out what other dances they were comparing AT too because I find the same connection in Blues as well as AT.
The main similarity I think that exists between the two dances are:
1 They are both UCP, with some form of body rhythm going on with your partner during the dance
2 They are effectively single beat dances, so you don't always have to worry to much about phrasing.
3 They are both danced without choreography. Effectively lead by the music and how both partners convey their interpretation of that music through the feel of their body movements
Oh, fab, sounds like we have a new tango night in Leicester.
