Sad Day - Patrick Swayze Died

Don't really know what to say....don't usually feel affected by the deaths of people I don't know at all but do feel a bit sad about this one. I guess it's because DD made such a huge impact on me in lots of different ways and I suppose I always really hoped they'd do a cool twenty years on *where are they now* sequal.

Jennifer Gray wouldn't want to be in such a thing but maybe Sarah Jessica Paarker could be softened up for it a bit but who could play Johnny now?

He was in a film in 2005 called Keeping Mum. He was already in his fifties then and I couldn't believe how fit and gorgeous he still was.

But what really shocked me was seeing him, just a few years later after the cancer had done it's worst. Tragic.

He was married for 24 years, which in Hollywood terms is almost unheard of. Very sad.

I think he was still filming wasn't he?
I guess he was determined not to just lay down and let it take him. Living life 'til the very last moment.
    Much respect.

    Here is the BBC's report

I don't know what to say really either... 57 and still handsome despite what he had been through!

A quiet, respected and honoured member of the acting fraternity, not courting the limelight, and all the more special for that.

Happy memories of DD and Ghost will keep his memory green for a long time.

I'd just seen this on the news. Very sad day. He battled hard against his illness, so sorry to see he has lost the fight. R.I.P.

Nobody puts baby in a corner! that line will go down in movie history as one of the all time lines!

I will always remember aspiring to be as good a dancer as he was in DD - that movie will always be one of my absolute favs!

And yes i confess i sang my heart out along to "She's like the wind!"

Despite some great movies he never quite achieved superstardom but nevertheless I think it is underestimated how many lives he has had an affect on especially in the world of dance!

Such a shame that yet another person has lost their life to the big C! He did so well to battle as long as he did!

RIP Patrick you will be missed by so many

FWIW, I always rated "Roadhouse" over DD... but DD has some great moments...

He always came over as a really sorted guy... thoughts with his family.
