    Technically, a 50cc "bike" is classed as a moped... At 17 you can "move up" to a 125cc "motorbike" (or start driving a car... Hmmm, I thought they were raising the age to drive a car to 18..?)

    Perhaps I'll give it a go and see for myself how silly these questions are!

    OK, just did the 1st page... Got 19/24 - I passed! So I can stay!!!

    See what some of you mean though - pretty dumb questions. I mean, how does it make a person any more "British" to know where British textile and engineering firms went looking for workers after WWII...?!

    And the one about Xmas Pud - well, talk about stereo-typing!

    To the toilet.
    I said you can go. It's certainly possible. But you don't have my permission, so you may not.
    Funny - I skimmed this, saw toilet, and thought you were going to say:

    Scottish bank notes and bank notes from Northern Ireland can be used anywhere in the UK.

    {pause}

    as toilet paper! {rimshot}

    I'll get me coat.

    So I presume all the issues about whether the answers are right (220V or 240 V or 230V etc.) refer to unofficial test question sites, (which could contain any old nonsense, as per the rest of the internet), rather than being issues with the actual official test?

    Re: Life in the UK test questions

    Page two of the test has the question: "Compulsory testing help parents a good indication of their children's progress - true or false. Well, the government answer is true, but the 'life' answer is closer to, 'false, it just teaches their children how to pass exams, while stressing the heck out of them and taking time away for learning, dancing and PE.' (That's without getting into the questionable structure of the question).

    Okay, I tried twice and failed miserably with scores of 14/24 (58%) and 16/24 (66%). Better start packing!

    (Wouldn't have passed even if I'd known the country of origin of April Fools' tricks. Shame on me.)

    Cool Re: Life in the UK test questions

    If I fail miserably - can I choose where I get thrown out to? I'm thinking possibly Spain.... Portugal...... somewhere hot! I wonder if the UK would consider starting a citizen exchange program

    Re: Life in the UK test questions

    Some of those questions are really random and utterly pointless.

    Even if that isn't the 'real' test, they ought to get them right. [I answered 'No' to "Is it illegal to use a mobile phone while driving?" as it isn't, provided it's handsfree.]

    ...I'm SO worried about whether they got the Welsh percentage right, now I know the answers aren't reliable.

    Still trying to pass - best so far is 14%

    Think I may have to ask my neighbours how they managed to pass.. Maybe when they took the test the only questions were about claiming benefits whilst not living in the UK..
