had a great weekend!!
Here's an open request to those who attended the Blackpool weekend, please.
The DJ played a great R&B (WCS) remix of The Beatles - Come Together on Saturday and I meant to ask him what mix it was but forgot, does anybody remember the track and perhaps know it? I've tried loads of tracks on Spotify but can't find it.
thanks in advance,
Brian.

I don't remember the J'n'J results (since I didn't even make the preliminary cut I am doing my best to forget them!)
The comps were run pretty well IMO and it was interesting to be able to see the scoring from the individual judges posted (though you could not identify which judge had given which score) In the Strictly there was quite a wide divergence of ranking. Kirsty and I had 2 judges ranking us 10th (of 13) and others ranking us 5th, 4th and 3rd respectively. Others were similarly diverse and it showed the margin between a placing and non-placing was pretty thin.
On the whole I thought the event was OK. Ultimately a dancing event is about dancing and I had some good dances over the course of the weekend. The Swing Hotel, much like Blackpool itself, was a bit of a sh*thole to stay in but it was good to have another venue to go and dance until the very early hours after the main venue closed. The permanent flooring at the main venue was awful and sticky but the temp flooring covering half the space was fine, if a little fast. Music had it's ups and downs. As at Weston the French contingent added a vociferous and talented extra dimension. I was disappointed not to get a dance with Jennifer DeLuca on Friday as I didn't see her out much after that. It's the first time I have seen Maxence Martin dancing in person and he is very good to watch, extremely talented.
Most annoying part of the weekend was paying £17 for three days parking only to drive out of the car park and find the barriers were up anyway so could have left without paying
Funniest part of the weekend was Msfab walking off at least twice from a dance with Michael Kielbasa who was doing his best to embarass her.
This event moves next year from Blackpool to Manchester so will be interested to see if a similar package is put together for the Swing dancers.

The competition had an international look & feel to it, with Rachel McEnaney announcing each competitor with their country of origin - England, Scotland, Ireland, South Africa, Norway Sweden, U.S.A., France, and Australia
The crowd cheering (thanks mainly to the very vocal and flag-waving French contingent) was fantastic - especially when each of the competition dance tracks were played, just about everyone hollered, whooped, and clapped to the beat. Very electric! In fact, the noise levels was reminiscent of what I experienced at the UK WCS Championships at Weston-super-Mare back in April.
As Dance Demon said, Scotland had a great run in the comp with many placings in all four categories, e.g. Ross Carlin & Teresa McClymont (Novice J&J). Despite my admittedly scant WCS competition experience, I thought the standard of dancing was very high - so I say, "WELL DONE!!!" to everyone who competed, awesome stuff!!
And on a personal note, I'm still in shock that I got 4th place in Newcomers J&J
