    Gladrags & recycling

I have spent most of today clearing out cupboards and drawers. In doing so I re-discovered some dancing gladrags that are no longer my size. Given that 'collecting' dance clothes can become an all-consuming passion for some of us.....I wondered if there were any other people out there who are in the same situation. I could easily take these items to a charity shop, but wondered if, at some suitable future date (probably an Edinburgh Tea Dance in the not-too-distant future) all the shoes I bought that ended up left in the box as they are too tight and the clothes that are either now too large/small for me might be 'interesting' to any dancers.

    Your thoughts please......

In London we have what's called "Give & Take"

Usually at a school, people give clothes, furniture etc, electrical, CD's etc.,

Then they take something the do want.

No money is exchanged, and you don't have to give anything to be able to take something away.

They are very popular, and a good template to use for dance items exchanges at dances IMO.

All you would need is a table. No need for anyone to even look after the stall.

Sounds useful - would it work at something like the Scottish champs? Just wondering if you could put a donation in a tin (or hand into Tiggerbabe) for taking something away? It might not make much (depending on the donations obviously!) but every little helps!

What a great idea, especially at the moment. I give my stuff to the local charity shop but something more dancer-specific would be better. I live too far away to donate my many pairs of worn-once-or-never dance shoes though.
