What about what the forum has offered people over a number of years

I joined the old London ceroc forum 6 yrs and go. They closed that and so I joined the Scottish forum, which had a stronger Scottish bias then.

Look what it’s given people barbecues, long term friendships, barbecues ,marriages, barbecues, dance partners, barbecues. If it hasn’t done anything at least its help people put on weight.

For the shy it’s given us a senses of belonging to a dance community

Have numbers drop /posts drop yes but for heaven sake for the newbie reading this thread give it a chance its not a bleak as it seems.

Try out my weather site forum you banned blocked told off if you miss an 'ed' when you post

Re: What you still love about the ceroc scotland forum

The fact that I met Beo on here - and the fact that he's still here, despite not having danced in over 6 months

All the other friends I've made, and am still making (ok, I'll pass the bucket round)

Keeping me busy when it's quiet at work (though it's been less good at that of late).

And sometimes the useful dance advice I get too!

Meeting Twirly here... obviously by far the most important thing about this forum.

The beginner advice I got when I started.. every 6 months or so

    Making some new friends..

.. and being introduced to WoW by Sparkles, Tessa, TheTramp and Co..
.. although Twirly may not thank you for that one

    The Witty banter

More important than meeting me Pete.... blimey... she must be special LOL

I love the forum full stop. Its fun, naughty, funny, upsetting, together and absolutely without doubt, one of the reasons i discovered life outside Cheshunt for dancing all those years ago.

It has also found me some really lovely friends. x

People I've met in person on weekenders - then shared chalets, meals, dances and chats with.

People I've never met but interact with on here, and via email, Facebook, text and phone calls.

When I was very ill back in Dec a forumite got a card and got others to sign it and sent it to my hospital ward. Many posted on a thread as well. When you're ill and feeling down, that sort of thing really cheers you up! And said a lot about the forum community.

The friends old and new, that actually pull together in times of need. Even the ones you don't expect to.

The fantastic friends I've made, the support I have received, the craic, keeping in touch with what's going on in the MJ and Tango world, finding out who's going where, the diversity of opinions on here, finding out what events were like for other people, the letter word games, knowing that whenever you go to a venue you will know people,............just some of my thoughts
if you love the life you live then you'll get a lot more done

Re: What you still love about the ceroc scotland forum

My life is generally a cycle of feeding children, working, putting them to bed, sleeping... and repeat. Within that there is very little time to actually socialise and have 'adult' conversation.... {erm... nope never mind } The forum allows me to chat with people that have the same interest, to 'talk' about stuff and see how people are: it's a pub where you get to know the regulars and irregulars.

What do I still love about the forum? I still love what I did when I started: the community. It's a natural extension of the dance floor & ceroc venue community - warm and inviting. You get a few numpties at venues and you get a few numpties here. does not dampen the enjoyment of participation.

Any idea where you can get it for a reasonable price? I'd spring for it for a tenner, but £40 for a used copy on Amazon is a bit steep IMHO.

If you don't object to P2P, you'll get it from any of the torrents sites but at around 500MB it's a big
    download.

What I like about the forum?
The ability to find out what music other people listen to.

I love the information (music, video discoveries, dancing tips, reviews of weekenders/freestyles), opinions, and also finding new people to dance with, and some new friends.

Re: What you still love about the ceroc scotland forum

It has given me almost 2 years of fun, stimulating arguments, advice, entertainment and laughs. I have met people from all over the country, enjoyed both dances and banter with them.

I have loved playing the word games and they have given me hours of entertainment and at times brought me to tears of laughter.

Had some great debates over politics and some other contentious subjects, I don’t always agree with other posters but that what a forum is all about.

I really enjoy the ‘Was last night amazing for you’ as I enjoy reading about a great night’s dancing and to see if others enjoyed the night as much as I did.

I think apart from the word games my favourite thread has to be the DTS one on single ladies and how to get a man’s attention (turning up naked with a couple of beers in your hand- such a great thread).

Lastly there is also the advice and information that I have gained from things such as music to what phone to buy

So come on people keep posting and keep me entertained

Re: What you still love about the ceroc scotland forum

I love the fact it gives me a chance to poke people I meet on the dance floor (as you never get time during the night) and that you can play the fun game of put a face to the name. It's a friendly community meaning when I go somewhere new there tends to be at least one forumite there who can introduce me to more people. I love seeing where people are going as it does often help me decide on what venue I'll end up at.
Also being new to this dance malarky the advice and especially DJ threads have been invaluable as I can pester my local venues to play new/more challenging tracks.
Does also help while away the hours inbetween searching for jobs

Re: What you still love about the ceroc scotland forum

I like the word games and the people I play with there, some of whom I have actually now met. They were lovely and I hope to meet the others in future.

I find the discussions on dance useful. If I learn even one thing from a thread or get an idea about something to work on then I think it's been a good thread for me.

Sometimes a really great dance teacher will post and give me an insight into MJ that I would otherwise not get.

Snorting with laughter when I scroll down a thread and read something unexpected and so very funny. Sometimes a guilty laugh snort at an item of crude humour - most of which I don't get of course .

It's always fun listening to tracks that have been posted. My favourite find so far is Alex Fox's Burning Guitar.
