There was a small article in the New Zealand Herald this morning linking to this from the Daily Mail about British ex-pats loosing their jobs in New Zealand.
Has this made many waves over on your sunny shores or is it just a blip that nobody has paid any attention to? The article in the Daily Mail fails to mention a few minor details, such as the fact that these workers were on temporary visas with no guarantee of continuation and that hundreds of ex-pat New Zealanders are heading back to New Zealand after not being able to extend their visa’s in the UK at the same time.
On the plus side, the Ceroc scene here is benefiting from the ex-pats returning. Numbers are still good despite the whole global recession and new faces always add an extra something to the mix. Plus, I have someone else to reminisce with
There was a mention of this in the Radio 2 news yesterday morning or in the newspaper review, but I've not heard anything else. Interesting though as I've got a couple of friends over there but don't think they'll be impacted.
I thought it was England that was evil ?
