ok its official temps will be hitting 90f + in london and the south east next week
How do you cope with the heat
For the scots you can use a reference of 65f
ok Im off to buy a ice cream franchise
Enjoy your ice cream (if you can keep it from melting), your sunburn and blisters, I'll be hill walking in Scotland next week and enjoying comfortable sub 70° temperatures, oh and I'll be drinking water straight from mountain streams, will there be any water left in your rivers or will they have dried up?
My daughter lives in Notting Hill and says it's too muggy already, yuck!
i have lots of Pimms and an Ice maker
Finishing my job on Tuesday and sitting in the garden for a week and a half before I start my new contract
I hate the heatwaves, everything is to muggy and STICKY! Fortunately my living room , whcih I curse for being too cold and dark for 11 months of the year becomes a blissfully cool haven in these times
Is essential to take fluid on board or preserve existing so energetic pursuits such as DIY are probably best avoided.
Taking Wednesday and most of Thursday off work this week and will be having a picnic and lazing hopefully on Formby beach for most of Wednesday and maybe I'll get to see a red squirral or two!!
if you love the life you live then you'll get a lot more done
air con in the office !!
and I'll not go outside if I can help it
but if/when I do have to go outside I'll be like the wicked witch of the west during a water pistol fight !!
"I'm melting !!! "
NI is forecast to be warm this week - 21-23 (which is warm for here!) but wet - with heavy rain forecast for Wed and Thurs.
I'm not complaining though as we got a whole week of sunshine last week and I was able to be out and about enjoying it - and I start back to work on Wed, so it can rain if it wants!
I like it around early - mid 20s - much warmer and we're just not equipped for it in this country.
I think I will be making the most of the outside pool at my gym and trying to do as little practical work in my lessons as possible! Unfortunately had 3 hours of practical today, including making bread, and my classroom reached 35degrees with all sixteen windows and the door open!!
Top tips from the BBC!
anyone got some white paint?
Dont for get your pets as well
They will need more water , milk ,stout or what ever you usually give them
I think I'm made of different stuff to everyone else.. I didn't think it was THAT hot yesterday
I managed to lay out in the garden, quite happily, for about 3 hours
And I think I'll cope a few more days of it

I worked in a conservation charity based in a forest park and we regularly saw them raiding the bird feeder just outside the kitchen window (where everyone gathered for coffee/lunch) and could sit and watch them at leisure. That was 3 years ago and we gradually saw them less often, now its much more likely to be a grey.
If it gets really hot I can just stay in the house - stone walls = cosy in winter and cool in summer. Drawback is I sometimes don't realise how hot it is til I step outside! And the car sits in the sun so going from cool house to sunbaked car isn't great - at least til the end of the road when the air con starts to kick in.
But its never really too hot here in NI. The past few days have been perfect - hot, sunny at times, but still a lovely gentle breeze.
