I'm unmoved.
More upset about Farrah Fawcett's death, me.

Quite why you felt the need to share your callous nature with us all on this matter is quite quite beyond me Barry. I know not everyone likes Michael Jackson's music, or indeed many of his life choices, but this isn't some sort of morbid celebrity game show. A person has died. Perhaps you could muster enough humanity and respect to at least allow him to go cold before you start kicking the body
Such a pity to see such a talented person die so young, my favorite album was Off the Wall, such happy memories
Rest in Peace
So sad when anyone dies before they've reached old age.
RIP Michael.
...nothing compared to all the hideous jokes coming out on facebook...before the poor bastard was even cold!
When I heard he'd died of a heart attack I suspected it wasn't as simply as that & they are reporting today he was still addicted to pain killers, which, if he was taking too many, would explain why a fit healthy 50 year old man's heart packed up.
Whatever the reason and for all the controversy surrounding him, I'm really sad that he's died. I saw him in concert in 1988 and he was great...a real showman. I didn't have tickets to the up-coming concerts but I was looking forward to seeing how it all went for him. From all the hype it sounds like he was rehearsing hard and looking to give it his best shot. Sad news indeed.
R.I.P Mr King Of Pop
not that I didn't like some of his music mind, but even before his "i am jesus christ" faze, that prompted Jarvis Cocker to take the p1ss, he had lost the plot, as they say.
edit: and it always grates when more than one "celeb" dies and one gets relegated to the inside pages - everyone has a preference, but importantly, these are people we do not actually know - so to berate others for their apparant lack of respect for someone neither of you actually knew is childish.

I'm very sad, as like him or not, he was a brilliant entertainer and has left us with some timeless classics
But, and this might sound really weird, I always had a feeling he'd die early and so I'm not entirely shocked. Does that sound strange

Talk about Drama Queen.
It is sad news when anyone dies, particularly someone who has brought pleasure to many people. Personally, I'm not especially moved by the death of MJ, Farrah Fawcett or any other celebrity. They'll be remembered for what they did and our continuing to watch/listen to what they did will show our respect and appreciation. Much more than that shows a distinct lack of proportion/emotional balance.
Just selected MJ on my iPod and the first 3 songs (Butterflies Smooth Criminal and I just can't stop loving you ) has just reminded me how truly awesome he was!

The good die young.
RIP MJ
People die every day, old chap. Rather a lot of them, I understand. Is the fact that I am unmoved by their deaths 'callous'? If so, then I am callous. I was similarly unmoved - though rather more startled - by the death of Diana. Yes, there are children left without a parent, etc etc, but as I say, this is in the normal course of events.
I'm not sure why reporting that I am unmoved counts as kicking the body - isn't that a rather hysterical overreaction on your part? I deliberately avoided making any of the m-a-n-y critical things I could have said about him.
