Yes - it is a bit 'quiet' on the previously active SCD thread.....maybe it is just too 'samey' for most people......

You're right though - that was an amazing dance.......were they the same couole who were on before a couple of years ago?

They seem to have taken it in to a different dimension...........

Meanwhile - wasn't it strange to see the wonderful Jade (my original tip) in the dance off? Well she was never going to lose a dance-off v Jo........

    Amazing!

Talking of Antons bad Jive.. I thought his partner Erin's jive, was terrible last week too and yes, I'm talking about 'her' dancing, not her partners. I was quite shocked.

Ali - I don't know why, but I just can't warm to her, which is a shame, as I know she's the best dancer. Its something to do with her eyes.. they're so expressionless!

On the other hand, I loved Jo. I wouldn't have voted for her, as she was clearly rubbish and it was right that she went out but I thought she came across as genuinely likeable person.

My Favourite is still Ricky Whittle.

Given that Anton and Erin seem to be far too specialised in the ballroom dances to the detriment of their Latin, I wonder if they have much of a future on the show. Anton could well end up presenting it instead of Bruce (O haste the day!), but I think perhaps Erin's days are numbered. They are too far behind the other pro dancers when it comes to the Latin dances.

I have to say that Bruce and Tess seemed even more awkward together than usual this week. Maybe Erin could replace Tess? At least she has a personality.

It's strange as i also tipped Jade at the start. However for me, I just don't enjoy her performances - latin or ballroom. It's all too stiff and uncoordinated, still a bit scruffy.

I'm loving Ricky Whittle & Natalie, Ali & Bryan (she just needs to relax a bit more - she's similar to Rachel Stevens did last time), and also enjoy Phil Tuffnell's dances.

Watching SCD on replay I fast forward through almost all Tess's stuff. I find her far more excrutiating than Bruce. Especially the slot she has late on in each show where she sits amongst the celebs and "chats" to them. Oh, the pain!

Michael and Joanna I think. Yes, excellent as always though to my eye not quite as impressive as their performances in the past two seasons. Even saying that, they still bear repeated viewings.

I think since Paki-gate, my theory is that Anton has lost heart. Perhaps he was being groomed for Bruce's job and thinks he has lost it. Whatever is going on, his heart isn't in it - either in the dancing or when he's interviewed by young Claudia - and feel really sorry for his partner. If your professional gives up, what hope have you got. (Especially if he started the series bigging you up compared to past dance partners).

The thing is, when Erin's had a good dancer, she's got good scores for the latin:

Series 3: Colin + Erin got the highest scores for Cha Cha, Jive, Rumba, and scored 31 and 32 in the other latin dances.
Series 6: Austin + Erin top scored for Paso and Jive, and scored 32, 29 and 35 for the other latin dances.

The perceived wisdom is that now Anton's got a good partner, he should be getting good scores as well, and he isn't. On the other hand, as someone else pointed out, this is the first week for ages where Laila has got through a routine without obvious mistakes. So it may not be that fair to say that Anton is holding her back, even though he's obviously much weaker at latin than the other pros.

Nah, I think he's just realised that he's a Thunderbird - he's just not worked out which one yet!

    Most definitely.

Needless to say, again there was someone going out too early due to soap fans. Think I'm going to have to stay in on Saturday evenings to make sure I can vote for my favourites as again we'll end up with the popular people staying in at the expense of the strongest dancers and therefore the best viewing.

I am glad Phil Tuffnell is still in though. I'm quite liking him & Katya and he's not bad.

I thought it was a very questionable decision.

Perhaps they'd have enough of voting off the better (in general) dancer.

Much as before the dance off I thought Ali would walk it, I reckon Alesha was the judge that got it right.

Ali looked nervous and stilted, in the dance off. Zoe's performance looked better than her first.

Very questionable indeed, maybe they gave her some leeway due to the fact she was dancing in flat ballet shoes or as you say, they voted based on all her previous performances

BUT.. if that's the case, IMO it makes a complete mockery of having a 'dance off', why bother

I found watching Ricky Groves this week, excruciatingly cringe-worthy

I still like Phil Tufnel, I reckon under his jokey carefree front, he's actually taking the comp quite seriously.

My favourite is still Ricky Whittle, just wished there was something he could do with his pigeon toes, then he'd be perfect!

One other thing, it struck me this week, Laila Rouass, looks just like Flavia

And Craig Kelly, seriously reminds me of Julian Cleary

I think a real question is just how bad her foot really was.

This image (full picture at http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/realityt...i-bastian.html) on DS shows her foot:

If that dark area really is bruising (as most people think), then it's possible she really couldn't dance properly on the foot.

From experience, it's possible to be in a "one dance only" situation; you can dance properly on the foot for one dance OK, but very quickly after you stop the whole pain/swelling mechanism kicks in and you're in trouble. In the actual dance off, it looked like the first time she really used that foot (in the first 3 seconds or so) she almost stumbled, and from then on she was *very* tentative.

Whether the judges should take that into account is another matter. I think the "right" person got through in a global sense, but I agree Zoe was better on the night.
