    Daventry 4th July

Not long now to the next big Daventry free-style

So, the inevitable question has to be asked I guess.....

    Cool Re: Daventry 4th July

Neither TwirlieBird or me will be going. Sara White has a freestyle on down in Buckden that night that we're hoping to get a whole bunch of us along to.... it's going to be awesome. Hopefully we'll see you both soon though Pete

I had a great night at Buckden the other week but Daventry is just around the corner, so if I can find a babysiter, I'll probably be there

Daventry has allways been my fav free style.

Wild horses wouldn't keep me away, I didn't attend one some time ago.....never again.

I understand a young very talented dancer will be showing us one of her other talents on stage..........looking forward to seeing Kayleigh an dhearing her sing again.

I've only been to Daventry once, music and dancing was great.

I'd love to go but I'm in the opposite position to Northants Girly in that Buckden is only 5 minutes from home. I'm planning on going next time to Daventry though.

Well I had to click 'call me daft' in the poll, but as I am going to Sara White's 4th July celebrations in Buckden I fail to see anything daft about that

You're so right there TB. Too bad there is a clash - normally I'd be near the front of the queue myself for one of Sara's free-styles, but Daventry is only 10 minutes from my house, and they only have a free-style 4 times a year.

Doesn't mean you and others wont be missed though

Good news - Marc and Rachel have bought a big fan! Should help to cool things down a little on Saturday in the Blues room.

    Re: Daventry 4th July

As DTS says, Daventry last night was pretty fab.

I told someone this freestyle often gets close to the experience of a weekender, and last night was a good example. Loads of fab dancers had travelled from far and wide, and the music was good for several hours of dancing.

I actually spent a lot of time in the Main room. Even with the big fans I was pretty hot, of course, especially as I had some great dances to fast tracks. Not that there was anything wrong with the Blues room - it was just that I was enjoying the music in the big room and kept seeing people I wanted to dance with.

David and Lily's cabaret slot was awesome, although I can't help thinking that the inflatable Ceroc stars hanging down to just above head height weren't very clever when there was a cabaret replete with aerials.

I was a bit worried that numbers would be down with the hot weather, and competition from Sara White's event last night, and Cruella's charity dance at the same venue in a fortnight. And overall numbers were perhaps down a little on last time, but there were so many great dancers that it wasn't a problem.

As always there were some people I didn't catch for a dance though.
    Love dance, will travel

I actually spent a lot of time in the Main room. ~snip~ I had some great dances to fast tracks.
I had some great dances in there too and would have stayed for a few more, as the atmosphere was so great and I kept being asked by awesome (young fit) dancers but I think there was a good possibility, I may have died
I realised my age last night, when I'd finished, correction, 'survived' a very energetic dance to 'pump it' and the young guy turned to me and said, WOW thanks Lory, your a legend!

David and Lily's cabaret slot was awesome,

I thought it was perfect... as you say, so many good dancers AND room to dance with them!

Best stand alone dance night I've had in a long time!

Had the best time - spent time in both rooms and loved them both!

Got to dance with all my favourite dancers (missed Marc F, Tony Epps and Silverfox though - just not enough time )

Was in a rather silly mood - well handled Lost Leader .

Caberet was amazing! - I don't normally watch the caberets but this one was exceptional - and I had a prime viewing spot from the balcony!

Really needed this as got some bad news recently - came home exhausted but euphoric - dancing as it should be - not too serious and full of friends xxx
