Ummmm, trust me when I say you don't want me to bake! (I can just about hear Little Monkey roaring with laughter).
Unless you want to spend the whole weekend in the chalet...
I do the eating and pimping out cake very well, but I'll leave the baking to someone who knows how.

Ahh I'll put a cake order in to Mr Tescos then lol

Lory thats a genius plan! wonder what ceroc would say if tents started appearing (am almost tempted to bring one along just to see - put it up near the blues room if we are the other side of the camp)

Re: Ceroc Splash, Southport, 16-18 October 2009

Hi everyone, I'd just been overseas for the last 2 weeks and have had very little internet access throughout that time.

Anyway, have finally gotten out of my jetlagged zombie state and have given thought about this weekend's Southport.

I'm itching to get on a dancefloor again, so I'd like to come along - but I just visited the SPLASH webpage and tickets are all sold out

This is a long shot, but I want to ask if there's anyone who has a spare ticket I could use - and if I can hitch a lift with someone to and back from Southport? (I'm in Glasgow).

Thanks for taking the time to read this - and thanks in advance to anyone that can help me with the above!

    I must admit I don't understand this.

When Jive Addiction was runnning Southport, at one point they had dancefloor space on three rooms plus a marquee, and there was always enough accomodation. I don't expect Splash to have as much dancefloor space as the JA peak (as there are still only 3 rooms on the draft event schedule), so why is there an apparent shortage of accomodation?

Re: Ceroc Splash, Southport, 16-18 October 2009

I have a query about women's bookings for the share with a stranger option. Are there any women out there who have managed to book this option? Whenever I have gone onto the Ceroc Escape site men sharing with a stranger are usually open, and women's places are always on hold. Does anyone know how many women's places to share with a stranger are on offer, and are they the same number as the men?
    Thank you

I think the offer said men and couples only, as usual nothing for us girls

Does this mean then that the share with a stranger option does not really exist for the women? If that's the case why do Ceroc advertise it? I don't think its fair if men are offered share with a stranger for £29.99 and women are just kept on hold. Perhaps someone from Ceroc could clarify please. I would be interested in finding out how many women were able to take advantage of the cheap £29.99 deals.

I thought rubyred might be talking about the "normal" SWAS option which is almost always on hold, even from the start of bookings, rather than the later special offers.

I think I once saw it being available for women on one of the weekenders, right at the very start of booking, but it didn't last long!

Yes David that is what I am referring to, having just tried to book for Feb [and at the beginning of the bookings for the Southport in Oct] and found the women sharing with a stranger on hold yet again.

450 ladies were on the waiting list for Breeze. Might explain why its always on hold.

Thank you rtwwpad, I wonder how many women were able to book the option of £29.99 to share with a stranger?

Blush Feb 2010 SWAS for women was certainly available (perhaps for a day).

Offering a smaller number of SWAS places, to ladies can be used as an effective gender balancing tool.

Unlike mixed chalets it can be made hard for ladies will buy them for non-existent men.

Where a weekender isn't certain to sell out, making those SWAS places discounted, is essentially a way of offering differential prices, and maximising revenue.

If the number of tickets that can be sold depends on the number of men willing to go, then offering a discount isn't that expensive.

    - Given that for each discounted ticket sold a full priced ladies ticket can be sold.

    Missed the fair bit.

I believe it is fair because it is the quid pro quo of getting to Southport and finding too few women, particularly in the lessons.

Women get the benefit of having a better time when they are there.

As a weekend virgin,so to speak,am I right in assuming that you can buy a ticket for the weekend without accomodation and then hope that somebody will let you sleep on the floor of their chalet or did I just read a post wrong.

I have been told [above]that this deal applies only if you are a man or in a couple.
