My grandad used to act all interested and let cold callers go on for ages with their whole spiel about the wonderful new kitchen/windows/conservatory etc he could have. Then, when they got to the point of asking for payment details, he'd tell them he'd love to but they'd have to ring the council and ask them.

I guess it wasn't an original idea after all. It doesn't make it any less funny the first time though

My phone goes off every night at some point. If im home which is rare, during the day, it goes off about 5 times.
Why don't you just unplug it then? or cancel it altogether?

(hope you're feeling better, btw )

There is a gizmo that a pal of mine uses, does the job and then some but it costs a few quid http://www.truecall.co.uk/acatalog/trueCallMovie.html. Personally I have found the telephone pref. service to be adequate.

Yes, but they may have more than one line. I meant the recipient can't use or get incoming calls for 30 minutes.
Good way to burst someones eardrum and deafen them permanently.
Really? I thought it was recommended in leaflets to use on 'heavy breathers.'
