Not nearly as unsafe as saying "three"

It is a tiny fraction towards being a hot air balloon. It will be a fraction less dense, and bouyed up by the surrounding air.

That makes it less dense, not lighter. There is a difference.

Regardless of truck weights my chickens can fly.
    Not far I'll give you.
Not high I'll will also admit.
But fail to clip the wings and they're off mate, over the bleeding hedge.
It's laying eggs mine seem to have a problem with little buggers!

    Re: Physics Question

What with being cooped up (geddit?) or hermetically sealed in a lorry with all the hot air, feathers, eggs, chicken/pigeon/pidegon poop and my tendancy towards travel sickness - if I were a chicken, this would seem like a damn good reason to cross the road !

    Re: Physics Question

If the lorry's sealed then there is no weight loss from exertion. The waste products still being contained.
The pidgeons have to create a down force at least as great as their own mass.
Sooooo the truck will weigh the same.

Now I'll go look at the new scientist article.

You sound like you've tested this theory?

Did you go as far as to weigh your poop?
