Sorry you had a less than great evening Gus, especially after such a long journey.
Although it wont be much consolation to you a lot of the problems you mentioned can be largely avoided if you know the venue and plan accordingly. For example it pays to arrive early if you can, booking on-line even the day before will get you a significantly cheaper ticket, and stock up on drinks when the bar is quiet early in the evening to avoid the queues later. You may say why should I need to do those things and that is a fair point, all I am really saying is that a degree of familiarity with a venue does sometimes help in achieving the best experience.
I have to say that I have experienced much worse floor-craft, especially considering how crowded the blues room was at its peak but it all comes down to ones personal experience - a couple of nasty collisions with a lack of acknowledgment or apology can easily ruin an evening if you are unlucky enough to be on the receiving end.
