Sometimes you seem to resort to random flights of wild speculation based on limited knowledge.
Zuma, who spent 10 years in prison as a political prisoner, has been elected in South Africa. He's backed by Nelson Mandela.

The previous ANC president wasn't much good. Poverty levels are still the same as 15 years ago.

Yes, well; just as pop stars don't make very good rich people (see the thread about Michael Jackson's auction, visit the Country Music Museum in Nashville and see Elvis' gold Cadillac), populist agitators have a history of not making very good governments (Lenin, Stalin, Pol Pot, Mao, Mugabe, Castro, almost any African country post 1960 has examples...)

Hands up who said Blair? Go and stand in the corner!

Populist agitators only rise to power because the country is failing and split.

Well, I think you've slightly over-stated the case - I'm not sure 'always' is true. But otherwise - yes. But other people can rise to power when a nation is in trouble, and they don't always set about plundering it.

Lenin and Castro were/are good head of states IMO.

Hands up who said Blair? Go and stand in the corner!
    Who said Thatcher? Time out!
