It is common practice to say thanks to visitors to venues, but obviously you have not encountered that yet.

It was just a dance and a thank you for the dance and the visit.

No wonder people don't post on the forum if this is the reception they receive when saying thanks!!!!
and no wonder newbies don't post if this is the reception they get

    give Haylz a break!

Yeah, we can all do without unnecessary boyfriend stealing dramas within the modern jive community. I'm glad you see that now. (PS Please don't take this flower the wrong way )

Battlecat is a relative newbie to posting on the forum.

Give her a break. Haylz ain't the victim here.

    Ooh! Girly fight!!

Haylz, if you hang around this forum for any length of time, you'll have to get used to proffered flowers and thanking people for dances past – not all for you or your partner though.

doesn't change my opinion in the slightest; perhaps because I can't understand reiterating a conversation that you've had in person in a 'virtual' setting, unless you want to make a real point of it, and why would you want to do that? Quite frankly, I don't care about flowers proffered to anyone else. The comment was originally tongue in cheek but has sparked such a 'violent' response it's almost unbelievable.

I don't think my original comment warranted a personal attack from 'Isis' or anyone else.

Have you never said "thanks again" to anyone for anything?

Perhaps the point of it was to make Dan feel welcome if he visited Scotland again?

If I particularly enjoyed dancing with a visitor to my regular venue, I'll try to encourage them to come again. Do the folks from Cheshire not like visitors?

'Violent' responses and a personal attack? It just gets better all the time.

I think if you have so much trouble with people disagreeing with you and letting you know how the forum works, we should use Ducasi's method of forum conflict resolution, as described here

So I have nothing further to say on this topic, other than I like Fuzzy Bunnies because Fuzzy Bunnies are nice.

(Please do not take this as any reference to bunny boilers because that would be quite wrong and would be the furthest thing on my mind in relation to this thread and anyone posting on it. )
